Randall Graves* 10-27-2005, 04:33 AM Is playing really well for the ducks, 9 points, solid defense and has been great on the puck especially down low. I was looking at the box scores tonight and his TOI was nearly identical to scotts, it seems like Rob has really elevated his game with his brother around and has earned every cent of that contract which many were critical of...through 9 games anyways.
Just thought he deserved some props. :yo:
McDonald19 10-27-2005, 05:17 AM I definetly wasn't expecting this from Rob.
I have been very impressed so far. He has deserved the A on his jersey and his 2 million bucks a year.
caliamad 10-27-2005, 08:35 PM is this really a surpise to you.
Rob has been of of our most consistent forwards ever since we traded for him.

And I must say most people around this board hated the trade for "Special Nieds".
He has been good. Been a solid contributer the last 2+ seasons when healthy. Hopefully he stays healthy.

leading the team in scoring, yeah.
consistent third line grinder yeah. He has stepped up to be a top 6 forward when many of us thought he would be a better fit on a checking line.

You are right, but offensively he's been quite a surprise.
Chistov23 10-28-2005, 12:05 AM Like I said before, we did not over pay him to get Scotty here! :teach: ;)
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 10-28-2005, 12:23 AM And I must say most people around this board hated the trade for "Special Nieds".

People hated that trade? Wow. I was pumped when I heard of that deal. JF Damphousse was pretty much useless, and Commodore wasn't much better. Other than Rob's price-tag, which wasn't terrible, I thought it was a steal for the Ducks, and that was before the playoffs. Then again, that's just me.

I hated it, I won't lie. I was happy about the steve thomas trade when it happened, but not happy with the rob nieds trade!
braincramp 10-28-2005, 01:35 PM Have to admit, I doubted he was worth the $2 million signing at first, but I'm changing my mind. I only hope his brother's play turns out to be 3.4 times better.

I had the opposite reaction. Hated the Thomas trade, really liked the Niedermayer deal. Was very happy to be wrong about Thomas, whose Ducks jersey I'm still happy to own, despite the short tenure.
Spankatola Jamnuts 10-28-2005, 07:18 PM I think that aside from two or three games, Rob's been pretty average. I don't think he's been exceptional in any game.

He's a much better player on the wing. Wish we had another option at center while Fedorov and Getzlaf are out.

He has 11 points playing center, and has been a total bull on the puck down low. I think he's playing great.

No, he has about half those points playing wing. And last time I checked wings are pretty critical in cycling the puck down low.
I didn't say he was playing badly... just that he plays even better on the wing.

I don't care what position he's playing as long as he produces..
sensens 10-29-2005, 02:48 AM Just curious - will Niedermayer be moved to Fedorov's LW when he comes back, or is he more likely to be kept at centre on the 2nd line? I'm just trying to get a sense of what the future might hold once the injured players start returning to the lineup.
infected13 10-29-2005, 04:18 AM I doubt Neids will LW for Feds. Lupul sorta has that position on lockdown for the time.

Isn't Lupul Federov's RW?
Spankatola Jamnuts 10-29-2005, 02:25 PM I wonder what it is he does that gets him kicked out of faceoffs so often.
