Still no evidence from the imaginary goal... strange, no?

I mean, several Devils players and maybe even the coach have publicly questioned the call.

The call is only supposed to be made in the face of irrefutable, incontrovertable evidence. (i.e. "I saw someone moving his glove behind the goal line" would not meet the standard).

So if it's so obvious, if it's so incredibly conclusive and beyond doubt and the puck can be clearly seen in the goal...

why are there still no pictures? :dunno:

Maybe they effed up royally? :dunno:

Great point. But that was a much less important scoreless playoff game.

Look, just forget it. You guys won a game you didn't really deserve. Be happy. Let's just let it go.

The "War Room" in Toronto apparently made the ruling on the goal. They must had seen something we didn't or had some sort of zooming technology to see the puck since I never saw it go in.

I've heard that argument, but what I don't understand is if that's the case, why not just show people what you used? It would take two seconds to say "well, we have this extra camera here, and here's the view that people didn't see last night, and here you can clearly see the puck as well as a pile of bodies on top of Brodeur"

Its going to be interesting to see what happens if the Devils are on the other side of the curve.

I think some of them see it coming and it just manifests itself in "we got screwed" (a-la 'it was someone else's fault' ) instead of "we *still* had a chance to win, and at least, should have put out a better effort to try and win the game." The scary thing is that it's the former coming from the fans as well as the players.

You hate Brodeur (he is overrated, of course). You hate Lou. It's all good, brother. We see through your thinly veiled facade.

That doesn't prove anything, that could be his glove curled, there is still no CONCRETE evidence as to goal or no goal.

Then why is he doing a shoving motion with his hand? Does he have a tick or something? :sarcasm:

Just a reaction incase it was going to go through, or maybe it was about to go through and he was keeping it from doing so. Therefore it would be a penalty shot. Last time I checked, shoving motion doesn't depict SEEING THE PUCK CLEARLY OVER THE LINE, which is what the rule is, not if in case of a shoving motion, the goal will be allowed :sarcasm:

Can we get over this already? Move past it. It was the second game of the season. It happened almost four days ago. Goal or no goal. The Devils lost by more than one. So who cares?

So what?? You don't award goals based on someone's actions or motions, you award goals because you see the puck in the net, end of story.

I agree man, but I couldn't let that slide without throwing my two cents in.

The end result is everyone knows it was a goal. Everyone knows that thing in the circle is the puck.
Some just don't feel that it should have been called a goal because that object might be two mouthpieces stuck together or something, it's just not clear enough to tell. Though, the league might have a higher quality picture then what we're seeing here on the internet. The resolution in that pic just isn't very high.
And some might object to Gagne not being called, but that's another story.
