predictions on where we will end up???

I've been reading tons of predections on where we will be, the one who can't be named has us 13th in the conference, but he's a big philly fan so thats the answer there.
I have seen us placed as hight as second.

1) Anybody who ranks the Devils 13th in the Conference should not be covering hockey at any level. That is disgraceful.

2) I, unlike a lot of fans look at the team through the eyes of Lou Lamoriello. He expects the team to win. So do I.

3) To predict where the Devils will finish right now is hard to do. Lou always makes adjustments to better the team. He traded for Grant Marshall and Pascal Rheaume and won a Stanley Cup. The only thing I know is Lou's commitment for a winning and competitive organization. MArty Brodeur is the biggest factor for the Devils. The Devils do not have the most talented team as they have in recent years. They could have the best team though. This is the deepest I can remember them. THe Devils are a Top 3 team in the Conference. Only possibly Philly and likely Ottawa is better.

Overall I like the chances of the team with the best GM and goalie. The scoring will not be an issue in my opinion. The defense is 6 deep. I expect to be in the lot tailgaiting in May atleast.

4th or 5th in the East. Devils will have to hear all year long they aren't the same team without Niedermayer and Stevens in the lineup and the whispering winds of the offense not being quite strong enough to make any real noise in the postseason will again blow through the general hockey media like a tornado through a trailer park.

I think the Devils will contend with Philly for the Atlantic title, but ultimately wind up 4th or 5th with a first round match against the Bruins.

I also saw the 13th place prediction from those we do not speak of this morning and I could not believe my *** eyes. His comments: "I don't know about this one. After watching them beat up on the Flyers for all of these years it is hard to imagine them at 13. Plus Lamorello can do amazing things. And Brodeur is still here, but after missing a year is he still the dominating force. I just don't know. The Devils lost a lot and picked up some. The rest of the conference got a lot better."

He also picked Florida to finish 15th in the East and Chicago to finish 15th in the West. Kinda funny, considering many would agree that Marty and Luongo are the two best goalies in the NHL, while Khabibulin is also a top goaltender coming off winning a Stanley Cup. You'd think a Philly fan would understand the value of good goaltending.

1. Martin improves from his rookie season.

2. Elias Returns to form by February

3. Devils can get a healthy Mogilny for 2/3 of the season and the playoffs

4. Devils can get a healthy Malakhov for 2/3 of the season and the playoffs

5. Someone needs to step up their game to a new level and perform at critical times.

i see us 4th or 5th, it doesnt matter to me all too much anymore becasue before id hope for 4th to get the hopfully extra home games for future salaries, but now, with the cap i feel it means a little less (still is meaningful tho dont get me wrong) but id love for us to win the div, but ehhhhh...but we wont finish any worse than 2nd in the division and no worse than either montreal or boston for the 4th spot
