Svitov sent down to Hamilton.
Cibak wins the 4th line spot.
I'm a big Svitov fan, but this is a good move. Cibak shows more effort on the ice. Not near as talented as Svitov, but a more mature player.
Cibak would have had a goal in the preseason if not for an early whistle by the ref vs. either the Canes or Thrashers.

Cibak wins the 4th line spot.
When Torts revealed his lines for the opener, he has Cibak centering Modin and Clymer. That looks more like a third line checking/scoring line to me. What do you think?
The Dirt Line is re-united as the other line. Wouldn't they constitute the fourth line?

Those lines won't stick IMO.
It makes no sense to leave St. Louis and Stillman on the same line. I really expect them to be blown up by halfway through the first game.

By the way, Hamilton proceeded to cuts earlier today. Sadly, defenseman prospect Jeremy Van Hoof was sent down to ECHL, mostly because of the depth the team has at that position.
However, many players on the Montreal roster are currently on the injury list, and some guys from the AHL will probably be called up in the hours to come, so perhaps it won't take long before Jeremy gets called back from the ECHL (only a guess).

I wouldn't bet your house on it. That line was buzzing tonight and the Mo/Benny/Cibak line was as well. Nice goals by Mo and Benny and Stiller got a hattrick (3 assists). :handclap:

Anything else to offer on the game?
How did Afanasenkov look?

Affy scored one of the two goals for Team Black. Dinger got the other.
White wins 4-2 and the lines must've looked like:
White
------
Stillman-Richards-St.Louis
Modin-Cibak-Clymer
Black
-----
Afanasenkov-Lecavalier-Fedotenko
Andreychuk-Taylor-Dingman
Have no idea which goalie played for which team, and what the D pairings were. Boyle didn't play because he had the flu, and I'm assuming Rumble still has back spasms.

Not sure about the D, but Khabi was with team black and Grahame with of course the white.

We've already been down this road... putting all your eggs in one basket and leaving Vincent Lecavalier to play with 2nd rate leftovers. It didn't work in the past and it won't work over the long haul of an 82 game schedule.
Hell, I don't think it'll work over the course of an entire game on opening night. Too easy to put a shutdown line on Stillman/Richards/St. Louis... especially with their lack of size.
