My vote:
They are sitting at 26 players and need to get down to 23. I know they want to carry 22, but Im sure they will carry Fritche as the #23 until they decide if they are sending him back. So they need to cut 3 more guys not counting Fritche.
MacDonnell wont be here and only one of Walser and Ericksson (my guess is Walser) will stick around as well. Then I think you send Pronger down. (I do like him though.) He'll be down awaiting a need to arise and be helping out Syracuse while waiting. Fritche will take his spot for his tryout games and then be sent back to Jr. At that point plug in Ling as the 4th line center. Without Fritche, its just going to be an energy line anyway so a system wouldnt be ultra critical. And he did play center in the minor if I remember correctly so it shouldnt be too much of a stretch. Can you imagine how physical a Shelley-Ling-JLGP line would be? Id love to watch that.
That would leave us with this:
Sandy-Cassells-Vyborny
Nash-Marchant-Knutsen
Wright-Pirjeta-Letowski
Shelley-Ling/Fritche-Jean Luc
Spacek-Richardson
Sydor-Klesla
Lachance-Wescott
Denis
Brathwaite
extras, not counting Ling/Fritche, would be Nedorost and Walser.
Chances are unfortunately that someone at some point soon will get hurt on the top two scoring lines. Then Nedorost will get a shot to show what hes got in the regular season on a scoring line anywhere as he can play all 3 positions.
Ling has also show versatility and ability to play on a scoring line as a forchecker if needed in case of injury. If Nedorost struggles, you send him down, you move Ling up a line or two and call up Pronger for the 4th line.
Unless Zherdev is comming over, which would have the potential to completely shake up the lineup and could affect the entire makeup of the team, I see no reason to get rid of Knutsen.
