Against Belleville tonight, Hughes had his first ever goal, which lead to a hat trick, including 2 short handed markers. Led Kingston to the 5-1 victory.
Turple was outstanding, making save after save.
Kloz got nailed behind his own net, but had a big hit 5 minutes later to redeem himself
those were the 3 stars
3. Kloz
2. Turple
1. Hughes
Got Rizzi, Kloz, Turple, Hughes, and a bunch others to sign after the game. I think I have about 20 Anthony Stewart autographs from last year :p

Kloz seemed like a marked man for some reason, he also got hit with that knee-on-knee hit as well as being hit from behind in the 2nd.
Personally, I thought Himelfarb or Thomas Samaris should have been third star. Himelfarb, along with getting the two assists, was making something happen practically every time he touched the puck. Boy am I glad he got sent back from the Sens. :D As for Samaris, even though that 2nd goal on McFadden was a bit of a soft one, the five goals against don't really do justice to his play IMO, it could have been a lot worse without him.
Of course the other story of the game is 7 Bulls players were sitting because of curfew violations, including Rane Carnegie, Cody Thornton and Eric Tobia.
Yeah, I had my video camera there, and basically, I taped Kloz whenever he was on the ice.
I counted the hit behind the net, the knee, the hit from behind, and a slash to the face.
fan75 10-04-2003, 07:16 AM It's kind of ironic because he was the one being critized for undisciplined play during the pre-season. :p
keon14 10-04-2003, 04:56 PM How is your other rookie Anthony Rizzi doing, in one post I mentioned that I had seen him play and was impressed with his play but someone added that he losses battles along the boards against much smaller kids, which really surprised me to hear that.
Well, Rizzi is 6'2" and 165 pounds, so he needs to fill out, but that will come with age.
He definately has potential, but he needs to adapt to the style of the OHL first. Next season he should break out.
He isnt doing too bad though, 2 points in 4 games.
He set up one of Hughes' goals last night, it was beautiful. He came off the boards, went into the slot, against the grain, and sent a pass to Hughes at the side of the net.
keon14 10-05-2003, 05:50 AM I didnt realize he was having a hard time adapting, I have read how happy Jim Hulton is with the rookies and how on some nights they have been the best line, or is that just his way of making the organization look good for their draft selections
No, he's playing well, he justs gets knocked off the puck rather easily sometimes, but next year, if he builds up his size, he could be a standout in the league. Definately a great draft for the Fronts.
