Hey, the kid is making 15k over league minimum. Does this mean he's going to get Top 6 minutes?

Hey, the kid is making 15k over league minimum. Does this mean he's going to get Top 6 minutes?

He will be fighting Hedstrom for the last spot in the top 6. Who will win, only training camp will decide this epic battle.

Seriously though my guess is he is either a 4th line guy or some sort of veteran presence in Portland.

or one of those coveted box seat performers... plays only if someone gets injured or sick in the last minute before game time...

Think we've got the top six basically figured out:

Federov, Sykora, Selanne, Lupul, Niedermayer, McDonald

Pahlson will anchor the 3rd line

Everyone else is fair game: Kunitz, Hedstrom (is he on a 2 way contract?), Moen, Fedoruk, Adams, getzalf, Konopka, Perry.

now just imagine if leclerc was in that mix instead of say... Moen and Adams... sheesh...

Very solid 3rd line grinder type and gritty penalty killer great signing here :handclap:

Always thought of Craig Adams as a very good 4th line energy guy. I've heard of worse pickups.

Hedstrom (is he on a 2 way contract?),

I think it would be highly unlikely that Hedstrom would come back to North America for a two-way contract and the possibility of playing in Portland.

Hedstrom (is he on a 2 way contract?)

Definetly a one-way contract.

Milestone: We now have 4 centers, 8 wings, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies not counting prospects under contract at $34,876,000. Does not include Salei, Getzlaf, Perry or Konopka.

Hedström is not fighting for top6 spot and neither is Adams.

Now this is a signing I like. He leaves it out there every shift, and he's only 28 years old. A fourth line of Fedoruk-Konopka-Adams will wear down the opposition.

from what I've heard the guy is similar to Holmqvist was... is this true?

Think Bylsma. Not a bad pick-up to fill out your bottom-6.

Yeah, a little faster than Danger Dan, though. Good PK guy, can skate a regular shift. He's worth the 10-12 minutes per game he'll get here.

He was born in Borneo? Thats kinda wierd :dunno:

His father was an engineer (petrolium?) who travelled a great deal-- hence the birth in Borneo. CAds wife is the daughter of the American ambassador to Canada--they met at Harvard... CAds is a gnat of a guy-- hustles every shift and can really annoy the opposition. What he lacks in skills and talent, he tries very hard to compensate for with effort. He had trouble with the transition from Maurice to Laviolette and seemed to shut down. His desire for bigger money from the organization resulted in him not being tendered by the organization, thus he signed with a team in Italy prior to the lockout. He will never be a top six guy, but will do solid work on the fourth line. I am certainly glad to see him back in the NHL-- I always liked CAds...

looks like this move keeps Konopka in the AHL for one more season.

Craig Adams is a high energy guy - probably 4th line and a fan favorite. You will like him. He gives 110 %.

He's not afraid of anyone.

We wish him good luck. He played with the Canes.

Last season he played here in Milano and he was easily the fan's favourite player.

Craig is a hard working player, you don't have to expect from him a ton of points but he'll do for your team all those little things that are important in hockey. Off the ice he's a classs act and one of the kindest hockey guy I've ever met.

With HCMilano he won the italian championship. After the final game I had an interview with him for an italian hockey website and he signed and gave me his stick (a 200$ composite stick...), which is obviously on my wall.

You've got a good player folks, you'll like him.

Adams should be a good energy guy on the fourth line. He'll play hard every shift and have a role in the playoffs. Does this mean Moen is going to play in Portland? I think so.

Moen or Konopka. They will have a good competition in training camp for the 13th forward spot. I assume we won't carry 14 forwards with Burke wanting a 22 man roster.

1-Feds
2-Sykora
3-Selanne
4-Lupul
5-Rob Nieds
6-Pahlsson
7-McDonald
8-Hedstrom
9-Adams
10-Kunitz
11-Fedoruk
12-Brennan
13-Konopka/Moen

This list of forwards looks awful, even last year forward roster looks better than this crap.

I think it was Anaheim who jumped on Eric Cole after a hit one night and Craig Adams jumped off the bench (without stick or gloves) to join the ruckus. Might have been San Jose though. You guys will love him. Above average 4th liner, and a very good PKer. Is effective on the 3rd line as well, just occasionally overmatched in the raw talent aspect. Smart guy too, went to Harvard.

Adams isn't a center. He's averaged less than a faceoff/game the past two years. Why is everyone assuming he'll be centering Fedoruk and Brennan?

Jerky Leclerc
08-26-2005, 11:54 AM
I think Brennan and Fedoruk will share the enforcer role with Fedoruk playing the majority of the games. We don't really need two enforcers playing unless if we need some "protection" (aka LA KINGS).

Fourth line should be:

Fedoruk Konopka Adams

Dirk316

I think Adams will be a lock for the 3rd line he had 7 goals and 10 assists last season on Carolinas 4th line which tells me he has offensive potential and we might as well spread out our toughness

Adams/Sammi/Getzlaf
Moen or Brennan/Konopka/Fedoruk

Is pretty solid imo

Adams is one of those guys who can actually be plugged in any line IMO. He does all the dirty work that needs to be done. He was used on all 3 lines in Carolina during his stay, moreso the 4th and 3rd the past 2 or 3 seasons. If Burke is thinking of balancing his lines big time, I wouldn't be surprised if Adams isn't playing on the 4th.

I sort of resented the guy at times because him and Kevyn Adams together simply outplayed the rest of our sorry team at times. You guys will truly like this guy.

:shakehead

Our top young player, a gritty energy player who can score 8-10 goals and supposedly our top defensive player who people here say is god is a bad 3rd line?
And 4th lines play how many minutes a game? At least this one will punish the other team Brennan/Fedoruk are not Sawyer or Burnett both skate well. So lol at your bandwagon complaining
Also this team will go as far as Jiggy will take them all the pressure is on him

In a word: yes.

And 4th lines play how many minutes a game?

No reason they can't play 10 minutes per night with the right players.

I'd much rather see

Kunitz Getzlaf Hedstrom
Fedoruk Pahlsson Adams

With Brennan being platooned with Fedoruk.

I think you could reasonably expect 35-40 goals total from that 3rd line and 20-25 from that 4th. Of course Getzlaf in the AHL would be even better, but we don't have the depth in the middle for that.
