Trade Idea Blackhawks/Devils

How do this sound?

To Hawks:

Jeff Friesen ($2,280,000)
Victor Kozlov ($1,746,000)
Krzysztof Oliwa ($836,000) Total: $4,862,000

To Devils:

Eric Daze ($2,280,000)

Total Cap Reduction: $2,582,000

I would do that 5 minutes ago from a Devils standpoint. Chicago might only because of Daze's injury problems over the last few seasons. As a Devils fan I would be all over this, I have wanted Lou to go after Daze for years

I like it also, but if I'm Lou, I'd push hard for Mark Bell instead who would add some toughness and scoring to the left side and is listed at $1,064,000.00 currently.

I like the Bell idea too, the only reason I doubt Chicago would go for it is Bell is 5 years younger than Daze. Either way it adds a lot of size up front.

Bell is a nice player as well. Either one would be a nice LW with size and scoring abaility. Daze is more offensive punch however. Of course Bell would really shed our cap to the point we might not even need to do anything else.

Lou doesn't seem to mind picking up inconsistent/injury prone players...this is one proposal I could actually see happening.

Chicago's at $29 mil or so when you include their undisclosed salaries according to TSN. I don't know if Chicago is going to take on an additional $2.5 mil in salaries. It is Wirtz after all ;)

Bell is *way* better than Daze... and if you can't make Bell work, go for Calder or even Arnason before Daisy.

Totally agree. There is alot of "Kozlov" in Daze. They've both perfected the "dissapearing act". I think it's too much to give up for Daze. I know we would be saving alot of dough but still...

I would do it for Mark Bell in a half a second. Don't see the 'hawks being stupid enough to part with a tough 25 year old, relatively cheap, budding star.

Daze does a disappearing act as well as anyone. very streaky @ best. arnason or bell, in a heartbeat. I wouldn't knock myself out for dazzy.

But he's scored at least 20 goals in every season when he played a decent amount of games. He would probably be the #2 goal scorer on the Devs if Elias is out for a while and Mogilny is healthy. I'd be thrilled to get a player of Daze's caliber in our situation.

I completely agree. The Devils need to dum,p salary. I still think (and I am part of the minority) that Lou will try to obtain an NHL player as opposed to picks and prospects. This is not to say a pick or prospect is bad. (I would trade Friesen and Kozlov to Washington for a First Rounder, but they would not go for it) The Devils are in cap trouble no doubt. But NOT IN AS MUCH TROUBLE AS PEOPLE HYPE IT TO BE. There are many players that would fit well with the Devils that could be traded for and are not high priced. Like I mentioned..Daze. Like Unthinkable mentioned...Mark Bell...Like Jeff Halpern..Daniel Briere, Gaborik. All these playersmake under 2.5 mill and by the Devs trading multiple players they could lower their cap and get quality in return.

I think Lou was smart to sign all his players and sit over the cap now. He has control of who he trades them to and what he can do with them.

In saying this..it takes to GM's to agree on a trade and I acknowledge it is easier said then done to acquire some of these players (who BTW are on teams who have cap room..keep that in mind)

I would do both those trades. :P
