the only players that i can see getting traded are vic kozlov or jeff friesen, langdon or brown, for example if they trade kozlov and brown that will save them about 2.1 mil, and they only need to get under by about 1.7 mill, but when elias comes back, most likely mid season or a little later, by that time elias's salary will be some 2 mill, which will not be too hard to adjust, plus you never know some body might get hurt, so just relaxx people, guys like colin white, paul martin, they are untouchables so forget about it.

I was thinking Elias would be back in December, but I'm not sure now. Here's the teams games per-month for the first three months,

OCT 11 games (13.4% of season)
NOV 13 games (15.9%)
DEC 15 games (18.2%)

Elias could very well miss half of the Devils games, thus only costing about $2 million against the cap.

Stevens/Albelin(will probably play for minimum, only if Scotty retires, lockout may have extended Tommy's career, I say at least invite him to camp and let him get cut if he has nothing left, this will also push Brown and Hale)

Brown-see what kind of camp he has, has he kept himself in shape during the stoppage?if not, send to Albany, let him go if he can't clear waivers

Hale-his health makes him a ? Albany, having him watch from the pressbox won't help his development if he is healthy, unless he splits time with McGillis, making for a young 3rd pairing with Martin.

Let Albelin, Brown and Hale compete in camp for the #7 spot.

If Stevens returns around Dec. 1st , move McGillis to #7 send Albelin(or let retire)/Brown/Hale to #8/ Albany.
