Randall Graves* 08-23-2005, 01:56 AM From TSN
Scott Niedermayer UFA (New Jersey) $6.75 million
Sergei Fedorov $6.08 million
Jean-Sebastien Giguere $3.99 million
Petr Sykora $3.116 million
Sandis Ozolinsh $2.750 million
Steve Rucchin $2.261 million
Keith Carney $2.052 million
Rob Niedermayer Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) $2 million
Vitali Vishnevski $1.140 million
Mike Leclerc Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) $1.140 million
Joffrey Lupul $900,600
Andy McDonald $627,000
Chris Kunitz Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) $461,900
Travis Moen Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) $450,000
Todd Fedoruk $450,000
Teemu Selanne UFA (Colorado) Undisclosed (believed to be 1 million)
Jason Marshall UFA (San Jose) Undisclosed (believed to be minimum)
Mark Popovic Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) Undisclosed (believed to be around 600 K)
18 Players 3 Salaries undisclosed $34,168,500
if you include Selanne,Marshall,Popovic and Bryzgalov(left off, around 600 K)
So I've got approximately 36.817 to 19 players assume konopka makes the roster(minimum) thats 20 at about 37.267 with Pahlsson and Salei left to sign.
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 08-23-2005, 02:15 AM When you take that roster, add Hedstrom at $512,000, and add Salei at $1.89 and Pahlsson at $0.5, it comes to a 22-man roster at $39,577,000. We're over, but not by much, so we have quite a bit of flexibility on this one. If we could somehow trade Petr Sykora in a deal for Eric Daze, we'd definetely be under in that situation, and, we'd not only solve our left wing problem, but get under the cap and not miss a beat in the scoring department. Even trading Sykora for a guy like Taylor Pyatt wouldn't be a bad idea.
Jerky Leclerc 08-23-2005, 02:26 AM With Selanne, the Ducks are about 430k over. I rather go with a 21 man roster than trade away production from Sykora or another player.
danaluvsthekings 08-23-2005, 02:53 AM Daze makes $2.28 mil. Trading him for Sykora frees up some money but not a whole lot. I'd question if Chicago would want to add another $900,000 or so in salary. The Ducks would be under but still around $38.5 mil. That leaves them money for 1 roster call up. I don't think there's any way in hell Burke leaves his payroll that high. Nor is he going to go with a 21 man roster with a payroll that high.
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 08-23-2005, 03:12 AM I got a question about Giguere. Is it the remaining salary that determines his cap number, or the contract in total? Like he signed a 4 year, $19.5 million contract. That's an average of $4.875 million. Rolled back, that's an average of $3.705 million, which cuts $0.285 off our payroll, and would put us $0.292 over, which would be easy to wiggle out of. Or, is it like I suspect, and Giguere's cap number comes from how much he'll be paid in the next two years?
Either way, this shouldn't be hard to get out of. It's not a ton of money, and there are many, many ways to free us from this mess, even if we kept Sykora.
McDonald19 08-23-2005, 05:46 AM Scott Niedermayer UFA (New Jersey) $6.75 million
Sergei Fedorov $6.08 million
Jean-Sebastien Giguere $3.99 million

Travis Moen Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) $450,000
Todd Fedoruk $450,000
Jason Marshall UFA (San Jose) Undisclosed
Mark Popovic Re-signed RFA (Anaheim) Undisclosed
18 Players 2 Salaries undisclosed $35,168,500
Marshall: 450,000
Popovic: 600,000
=18 players at 36,218,500
+Pahlsson at 625,000 http://www.nhlpa.com/WebStats/PlayerBiography.asp?ID=6312
36,843,500 for 19 players
+Bryzgalov at 456,000
=20 players at 37,299,500
+Konopka at 450,000
=21 players at 37,749,500
Salei being the 22nd player.
39,000,000 - 37,749,500 = 1,250,500
So we either trade Salei for picks/prospects and Dipenta makes the team at 450,000...22 players at 38,199,500....or we trade Sykora and have some breathing room...37,749,500 - 3,116,000 = 34,633,500 + a UFA forward at the league minimum = 35,083,500 which leaves room to sign Salei for a long term deal at just under 2 million and we have our 37 million payroll.
Jerky Leclerc 08-23-2005, 06:10 AM Salei needs to take one for the team. hehe 1.2 mil aint bad.
Randall Graves* 08-23-2005, 06:27 AM i'd rather popovic make the team over an ahl scrub like dipenta.
Kevin Forbes 08-23-2005, 06:42 AM I have us at $39 636 000 million with Salei signing his qualifier.

Yeah Popovic is a lock...DiPenta would be for the 7th spot if Salei is gone...
S.Nieds/Carney
Ozolinsh/Vish
Popovic/Marshall
DiPenta
Randall Graves* 08-23-2005, 07:10 AM tsn left out hedstrom(as pointed out by BRG) so i see pahlsson or mcdonald being out.
Randall Graves* 08-23-2005, 06:25 PM With Leclerc now gone the payroll is at 36.609 with 20 guys under contract.(assuming konopka makes it) with salei and one more body left to sign.(Dipenta maybe?)
looks like Burke can sign salei and be around 38 maybe.
Randall Graves* 08-23-2005, 10:56 PM I now have the ducks at 34.348 million to 19 players.
so we need atleast 3 bodies.
Ville Isopää 08-24-2005, 05:10 AM adding an affordable 2nd line center would be perfection right now.. could we afford/get Milan Kraft maybe?
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 08-25-2005, 09:52 PM adding an affordable 2nd line center would be perfection right now.. could we afford/get Milan Kraft maybe?
I think we could. Kraft won't be after big bucks, so he could be a nice fit if Getzlaf plays in the A for a bit.
