Ok, is it me or is Korky just looking quite average atm....

In tonight's game, he had atleast 2 prime scoring chances, one he was weak on his stick and another he tried to over-power and shot it high and wide...

So, here's the thread question? What line does he go on if he continues to play the way he has for the past several games?

Also, Dimitrakos was less than impressive tonight. He also was a little weak on the stick at times around the crease.

WTG, Christian E. played a good game. Even when he made a mistake, he recovered well.

Also, WTG Nils E. he was very visible defensively, and he got 2 assists.

So, shout it out...

I was wondering this about Korky tonight as well, I listened to the Vancouver feed over the net and hearing their play by play on Korky when they mentioned his name at all, it sounded like he wasn't much. It seems every effort is being made to give him a long leash, with him being on that "set" line with Thornton & McCauley (that's the three right? Or was it Marleau rather than McCauley, I forget) but I wonder if that lack of really having to challenge has made him a bit soft. He knows he's not fighting for a spot. You have to wonder how long they let it go, because there are guys out there gutting it out and I'd still rather see them playing even if it means 5 less goals than him if this is all he's willing to give.

Given his history if he does get bumped to a line with less ice time what's he gonna do? They have hyped his return quite a bit, but there really hasn't been anything I've read yet that's warranted it. I expected more, because i liked watching him, but so far he's been cold. The Vancouver announcers seemed to be genuinely impress by Michalek, and a bit shocked by what he was doing out there. If Korky is still wafting through the game after a couple weeks I hope someone like Michalek or Loyns is given a real go... Give me heart and passion over reputation anytime.

If Korolyuk can't cut it, too bad, Nils Ekman can. Stupid Rangers...why you'd field millionaire has-beens instead of Ekman...it's great to hear that Ekman is playing like he played with Tampa Bay. He stood out for them in his time there too. (At least he did to me) If Korolyuk does play himself out of a spot, I guess he'll be going back to Russia for 2004-05. It's not like there's not competition.

I can't wait to see what happens with the Waiver Draft later. (Whether Zalesak or Harvey are still with San Jose, if San Jose takes anybody)

Ekman has racked up assists in preseason but no goals. Does he display any goal scoring ability? Does he have a hard shot and is accurate?

Ekman played a good game last night, I listened to the feed with my dog and kids...(they played legos and only payed attention to the HORN...my son already knows the sound at 2 yrs old.)

Back on track....Ekman seems to have good ability and although I am ignorant of his past, what he's producing in the preseason seems good.

Korky played the same way I remember. Late in the third, he went on a 1 on 3 rush that amounted to nothing...he didn't wait for his linemantes Harvey and Primeau to catch up. This doesn't bode well, if he's going to exhibit limited vision and playmaking ability. As I said previousl;y, he had atleast 2 good chance but was weak on his stick once and the other, he tried to overpower. It raises a concern because grunt laid it out....Korky is one of our top 6????

The eventuality becomes Korky on the 4th line or being a scratch....then he becomes the player he was under Sutter...he's almost coming across like a pseudo-narcisist...

Anyway, let's all cross our fingers that be gets a burr in his bonet (helmet).

Were Primeau and Harvey on Korolyuk's line for the entire game? It would be difficult to dispay his playmaking ability with 4th liners.

Wayne Primeau and Todd Harvey aren't chopped liver offensively. This isn't asking Korky to go out and create offense with Parker and Moscevsky. What it does show is, how much offense can Korolyuk create Primeau and Harvey can take advantage of opportunities, but can Korolyuk make the two players with him better offensively?

Why does this matter? Because it appears the Sharks have confidence that Ekman and Michalek can.

I have full confidence in Ekman, almost nothing with shake my opinion of him. It only took his short tenure in Tampa to impress me. Rangers' loss for not utilizing him while going with Rico Fata...not that Rico is terrible, but...come on.

Florida now has a gap in goal. Is Miikka on his way to Miami? We'll see.

And yes, I know they picked up Valiquette, that really only offsets losing Chris Mason.

Some of us and getting a real kick out of this thread. :)

Are we ever gonna meet for a beer? It looks like a long, painful season for the Sharks, so I guess we have plenty time.
