The New Jersey Devils will play an intrasquad scrimmage, named the "Red and White Scrimmage," on Saturday, September 17 at 7 PM at the newly renovated and renamed Richard Codey Arena at South Mountain in West Orange. Here's a link (http://www.newjerseydevils.com/2005/html/theteam/teamnews/redwhite092205.php) to the Devils official site with more information. Geneal admission ticket prices are $15 and VIP tickets $100, which will include a pre-game reception at 5:30 PM. Also, Lou Lamoriello said it will be an annual event according to a blurb at the end of the New York Post article about Mogilny's return.
This game will give hockey fans a chance to see the two best teams in hockey play.

Sounds like Marketing 101 to me. Good for Lou
That's a necessary start to marketing the Devils as a team and the individual players and is necessary to get fans in the seats this season for the Devils and to prepare to build the fans at games base for the new arena.
Do you know why the renamed it the Richard Cody Arena? Did the State throw money at it? What are the new renovations? I remember the Brendon Bryne Arena that name didn't survive when money could be gotten from naming the arena (Continental Arena). Instead of Cody it should be Sharp James Arena because of his push and creativity for the new Newark arena unless they will name him in Newark.

There is an ordenance in West Orange that prevents buildings from being named after people who have not retired from public life, but an exception was made because the arena is on county property.

Dude, Sharpe James is an *******. He's the reason the arena took so long, not the other way around. If we had an arena deal perhaps the Nets wouldn't be looking to move.
Nothing gets done in Newark without that *******'s palm being greased. He's holding this city back.
I hope Cory Booker finally wins for mayorship and finally change can happen.
