King joined the Silvertips in November of last season and appeared in 31 regular season games and 9 playoff contests. The Salt Lake City, Utah native tallied 2 goals during the regular season and led the Silvertips in plus/minus with a +3. King also posted a +4 rating during the regular season.

Note : Everett coach is Kevin Constantine, former NJ coach... :jump:

King gets a shot: Everett defenseman Randy King became the second Silvertip to earn a look from an NHL team this offseason, receiving an invite to attend the New Jersey Devils' rookie training camp.

King's invite follows defenseman Shaun Heshka's invitation to attend the Calgary Flames' main training camp.

King, a muscular 18-year-old who scored two goals in 31 games last season for the Silvertips, was eligible for this year's NHL draft, but went undrafted.

"It was a big surprise," King said of receiving the invitation. "I was more focusing on next year's draft because I'd switched teams halfway through the season and was learning a new system in Everett.

"It's going to be very exciting," King added. "I'm sure I'll be nervous, but if I play my game I'll be all right."

New Jersey's rookie camp begins on Sept. 7. Players typically are not signed to professional contracts out of rookie camp.

Comes from USHL, defensive d-man. 6-2, 215 lbs but didn't play a lot at this point. With several players leaving the Silvertips, should have a chance to establish himself in the WHL.
Born 1987. I think he comes just to complete the roster and NJ will follow him for next year draft...?

Konstantine has a great sense of humor although he never smiles. He was a guest speaker @ a coaching clinic I went to. He had a tape (he was selling the whole package) where his team either (before or after a game) sing to a song they choose as their "song". In this case his team chose "Livin on a prayer" by bon jovi.
It was fun to see p,layers in a stinkin locker room with the team half dressed screaming out the refrain.
We use his defensive zone coverage scheme in our rink. I'm not surprized although he was fired, he can call and make a recommendation to the devils scouting staff.
