that todd bertuzzi might actually get some preferential treatment from the officials?what i mean is, will the refs call guys trying to goat bertuzzi into penalties, knowing he can't really get too physical ?therefore getting the canucks more powerplays.thoughts please.

yes and no.

yes players around the league will attempt to goat bertuzzi into things more frequently than they would with other players, or would with him previously. Yes, if it's blatant the refs will call the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty like they always have and always will.
No, that doesn't count as 'preferential treatment' from the refs, because it won't be a CONSCIOUS decision by the refs to protect bertuzzi from the extra goating.

If any conscious decision IS made on the part of the refs, I would unfortunately have to say that it would be to in fact be preferentially UNFAIR to bertuzzi given how much he argues with them all and so has no fans amongst the referees ranks.

he has to keep his mouth shut and two hands on his stick - you know that one-handed grab thing he does - ref's will nail him everytime -

You mean when he has the puck?
ya - i saw a clip just a minute ago - he also likes that deek where he pushes the puck against the flow then pushes or grab's the guy to get by - that won't wash anymore - he got nailed enough times before - then he'd mouth off for getting called - he'll have to watch it -

It will be tough for Bertuzzi to return as the same player we know him as, as he did do a lot of clutch and grab, but he is fairly speedy enough to succeed at the new rules..
