...thinking about drafting him in my keeper league prospect draft.

How long do you think it will take him to win a spot on the Sharks? could he be ready as soon as next year?

what type of upside do you think he has...short term?...long term?

will it take him a long time to start scoring a la Bertuzzi?

Hard to predict any of these things but any insight would be appreciated.

I expect the Sharks to be patient with him.

I expect him to play in the QMJHL again next season. AHL a year or two. I honestly dont expect Bernier to be rushed. Although watching him play many times, I have to say he could come to San Jose sooner then expected depending on his game this season. If he really lights it up this year it wouldnt be way far fetched to say he could be a Shark next season...I highly doubt it.

I dont expect him to play though with the Sharks untill he's 22 years old. I do think he'll have a learning curve of two years. But when it's all said and done I do expect him to be one of the cornerstone powerforwards in the league. But it could be a Bertuzzi thing were it well take awhile to set in his head...Hey i'm just this good. The sky is the limit for Bernier.

Outside of goaltending, i think power fowards take the longest time to develop...keyword is patience

The word on him is five years if at all. He's not the hardest worker and he has had problems staying in shape in the past. Word is that he is being outplayed in the Q so far by second rounders.

I'd say big defensemen tend to take longer than power forwards.
