Is he making the team this year, or does he need another year of seasoning?

Pwnasaurus 08-15-2005, 04:49 PM Is he making the team this year, or does he need another year of seasoning? Depends on how he looks in camp obviously, but my gut feeling is he makes it while Perry goes to Portland. JohnnyRyall 08-18-2005, 08:04 PM Say he makes the team ... what kind of season are Ducks fans reasonably expecting from Getzlaf? Kevin Forbes 08-18-2005, 08:39 PM Probably quite similar impact to Lupul in his rookie season Kimi 08-18-2005, 08:54 PM If he makes the team. We have no cap room for him unless someone goes... Jerky Leclerc 08-18-2005, 09:22 PM Is Getzlaf ready for the NHL? Probably. He could play and put up decent rookie points. But should Getzlaf play one season in the AHL as the top guy and put up monster points, building his confidence and skill? Definitely. I would rather see the Ducks develop Getzlaf much like Ottawa has with Spezza. No one can deny the player Spezza will bring Ottawa this year, being the top scorer in the AHL. We could use him in Anaheim this year but the Ducks should do right and let him build some chemistry with Perry and gang. If he is good enough, he'll earn a callup. Habs33 08-19-2005, 01:15 PM How does he compare with Perry? who will be a better pt producer? assuming they both fill out their frames and are mentally prepared for the ahl or nhl? HF rates Getzalf higher. i.e who would you pick if you had to choose one and why? Heavy Hussar 08-19-2005, 11:14 PM well i am in the vast minority here that think perry is better, or has more potential. if your looking at the complete package, yeah getzlaf has better defensive instincts, and i think he will be a very good player. hes also very likeable, and probably more NHL ready. i just see a star when i look at perry though. he's slower but he crashes the net HARD. i like how he doesn't back down from defensemen and has a penchant for flamboyancy. i got to see him a few times last season in person. he is a extremely fun player to watch, and it seems hes the "star of the show". i could be wrong though, ive been before. Kevin Forbes 08-20-2005, 11:25 AM I rank them as such because though I feel Perry has a higher potential, Getzlaf is a safer pick and more complete package. | ||
