Is Korsunov ever coming over?

I've heard nothing but good things about him, but it seems like he's never going to come over. Anyone know the latest and when he might be in Anaheim?

I'd say it's now or never for him to come over. We could use him in Portland with only O'Brien, Saunders, Rome and DiPenta on D there.

I doubt he'd want to play in the AHL, but hopefully he thinks he has a shot at the NHL and decides to come over.

Also, Smid will likely be in Portland, too.

Yeah thats the problem, he is one of those guys who will only come over to NA if he is guaranteed an NHL spot. I can't imagine Burke given him a one-way contract.

It's not that strange IMO that he is only intrested in the NHL. The AHL is far from the level of the european leagues of RSL, SEL and FEL. To go play in a worse league for a fraction of his salary in Russia just doesn't make sense. I doubt you'd take a job flipping burgers at McDonalds if you were a chef at a classy restaurant.

What I hope is that Burke could come up with some smooth line like "we'd have you in the NHL, but we need you in the AHL for a while so you can get used to the NA game", and he'd bite. One can dream, I guess.
