Guess we will have to wait for LA Times or OC Register. caliamad 08-12-2005, 03:10 PM hoping they are two way contracts so that later in the season they can be sent down if we want to call up the kids. Kevin Forbes 08-12-2005, 03:48 PM hoping they are two way contracts so that later in the season they can be sent down if we want to call up the kids. geez at least Leclerc should be injured by then, if not Andy Mac and Ozolinsh too Spankatola Jamnuts 08-12-2005, 09:38 PM Wonder if Kunitz wound up signing the qualifier. lux_interior 08-13-2005, 12:41 AM No big deal to me. Jerky Leclerc 08-13-2005, 10:20 AM LA Times The Ducks are negotiating with defenseman Ruslan Salei on a multiyear deal, although the 30-year-old veteran is expected to accept his qualifying offer at nearly $1.9 million for one year, Salei's agent, Todd Diamond, said. Salei will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, but Diamond said Salei's preference is to sign a long-term deal to stay with the team with which he has spent his eight-year career. "They've indicated that Ruslan is part of the future of the team," Diamond said. "We've agreed to try and do something. If everything adds up, [re-signing] certainly is a priority." The team retains the rights to Salei, as well as centers Stanislav Chistov and Samuel Pahlsson, who have yet to accept their qualifying offers. Players have until Monday before the offers expire. Restricted free-agent left wings Travis Moen and Chris Kunitz agreed to one-year contracts. Moen is expected to make the league minimum of $450,000, and Kunitz will earn $461,900 if he makes the roster. Sounds like Kunitz is on a two way contract. Jerky Leclerc 08-13-2005, 10:24 AM OC Register: Ducks sigNings The Mighty Ducks signed restricted free-agent left wings Travis Moen and Chris Kunitz to one-year contracts. Moen and Kunitz accepted two-way qualifying offers tendered by the Ducks that will pay them one salary if they are in the NHL and a lower amount if they are in the minor leagues. Moen will receive $450,000 if he is with the Ducks, and Kunitz $461,890. Moen, 23, is a 6-foot-2, 200-pounder who arrived in a July 30 trade that sent winger Michael Holmqvist to the Chicago Blackhawks. After recording four goals, six points and 142 penalty minutes in 82 games for Chicago in 2003-04, Moen played during last season's NHL lockout with Norfolk of the American League, where he had eight goals, 20 points and 187 penalty minutes in 79 games. Kunitz, 25, signed a free-agent deal with the Ducks in April 2003 after he had completed a standout four- year collegiate career at Ferris State. After splitting 2003-04 between AHL affiliate Cincinnati and the Ducks, with whom he notched six assists in 21 games, Kunitz had 22 goals, 39 points and 71 penalty minutes in 54 games for Cincinnati last season. caliamad 08-13-2005, 08:54 PM perfect, that sounds like cheap 2 way contracts... Burke might be able to pull this out... He still will likely make a move to dump cash, but at least he will have more leverage in negotations... he won't be forced to make a move... | ||
