What really got to me when I was researching this article is how everyone is so interconnected.

Ryan played with Salcido in California
Salcido played with Johnson and Crosby in Shattuck
Bailey played with Johnson with the USNTDP
Bailey played with Cogliano at the Under-17s
Bailey will be playing with Johnson and Cogliano in Michigan

Other thoughts:
Levasseur's situation going into this season could be very similar to Bouthillette's last year. After a strong year with a strong team, he could be handed the reigns and see what happens. I think Levasseur's ceiling is higher then Bouthillette but what I would really like to see is how working with Allaire improves them both.

Bobby Bolt is a big project, he can't skate well, but he has size and tenacity. I look forward to watch how he will progress.

I personally think the Analysis part is the most important part of the article. I tried to read into the picks a bit more and how this draft affects the organization. Since it's Burke's first draft, he's trying to put his stamp on the team early and so this draft is a reflection of what he wants, basically.

Great read. Interesting stuff in there. When do you plan on re doing the top 20? (well, top 17 as it stands now :D).

There's another purge on schedule first. On August 15th (or shortly thereafter) all the prospects who are no longer eligible due to age will be removed.
This includes:
Chris Kunitz
Tony Martensson
Zenon Konopka
Bjorn Melin
Joonas Vihko

I'll probably plan for a top 20 sometime after that time. So probably early September

Also here's an interview McKeen's did with Ryan before the draft

McKeen's: Florida and Anaheim, of course, are a couple of those Southern markets that could struggle.
Bobby Ryan: Yeah, I don't see them doing too well when the NHL comes back either.

With all the excitement generated from the signing of Neidermayer, and the increased rivalry with the Kings since JR arrived, I don't really see Anaheim's franchise in imminent danger.

I think Ryan was more referring to whether the team would be able to compete, which is always up in the air until the puck is dropped. That being said, I bet he's changed his tune now that he's a Duck.

Bolt could end up being a steal, this teams recent history with poor skaters is good and it's always a worthwhile risk to take a guy Bolts size.

Well there's that...he's in the franchise now, which is a plus. But also with the re-signing of Ozolinsh and the signing of Neidermayer...plus Fedorov and all of our good prospects...I'd say the Ducks have a good chance at the playoffs this year.
