New Forum

You all might have noticed the announcement on the top of the board:

A new forum called The Press Box has been set up to give current or retired media members, players, coaches, scouts, trainers etc. a comfortable place to post. We hope it will grow and become a unique place where you can look to see what those with special insights are saying.

Posting priveleges are restricted to those mentioned above, and HF Staff and moderators. Regular users will be granted posting priveleges on a case by case basis.

Any help contacting and encouraging people who work in hockey to use the new board is welcome and appreciated.
That last part is emphasized for those of you who have more pull than me, hint hint!! I would love to see some of our local hockey people involved. :) If you know of someone who might be interested, please have them write the HF Administrator at: webmaster@hfboards.com

This should be a very interesting and unique project if it takes off! Right now it's mostly HF Staff members who are posting, but we should have some more actual "hockey people" posting after tomorrow which is the official launch.

Just bumping this up again. I can recommend two of you for posting priveleges on this new board. It's not really populated with "hockey insiders" yet, but hopefully soon will be.

I have to be responsible for the behavior of whoever I recommend (this board is restricted so we don't have 12 year old trolls attacking professionals who are kind enough to post here), but I know most of you are highly capable of being good citizens. :D

I have a few people in mind, but if you are interested, I really want to hear from you ASAP. I don't want to put forth someone's name if they aren't interested. (Chad and Pete automatically get posting priveleges as HF Staff members).

Also, if you have "pull" with any of the local writers or "hockey people", PLEASE let them know we're interested in signing them up! My emails have gotten me nowhere, and I'd love to see some Tampa representation. :)

Anyway, the more the merrier. :)

You should tell our management to ask Lyle Richardson to come on board. I'm positive he'd do it... no one loves a good bare knuckled message board brawl than Spector. It's be even better if you then got Bruce Garrioch from the Ottawa paper... and then watched the fireworks. :)
