The Hockey News stuff

I just started getting The Hockey News, so I'm not clued into biases and so forth, but they (Tim Sassone) are predicting SJ as 14th in the West this year below everyone but the Coyotes... This seems a little hyper critical to me, is this pretty standard? They rag on the PK, ignoring the huge improvement made at the end of last season.

It was fashionable early last season to plug the Sharks in THN, before that, they were rather ignored. I've subscribed since Jan. 1995.

The fact is, Victor Chi should be the one doing the contributions to THN. Ross McKeon is a good writer, but hockey isn't his forte. I mean, the Top 10 Prospect lists he's submitted forever are way off. (In my opinion, but I'm sure most of you would tend to agree with my rankings than his rankings.) You didn't see me putting Eric Laplante in the Top 10 last season...it's really ridiculous.

Now that we finally have a activist as far as Shark prospect reporting is concerned (me), I think things will slowly change. I mean, I'm getting things up to date slowly but surely here at HF. We'll have three other writers contributing this season as well, with substantially improved Barons coverage. Yes, I'm an amateur reporter, but Hockey's Future is no joke.

People read this, and with updated coverage, consistent coverage, and timely coverage, the Sharks prospects won't be forgotten. You can bet if Kai Hospelt succeeds, there won't be a "Where did this guy come from," like what happened with Fahey and Murray in the regular media. The mass media will be able to keep up to date by reading HF.

BTW.... Get the McKeens yearbook ....it's 10X better then THN

Not Victor Chi, I can't stand that guy. He's why I wont read the hockey coverage in the Merc (and it's a stinking liberal paper too).

It's really suprising they'd put the sharks that low. Clearly, we've lost the big name wingers from last year ... but to be placed lower than Columbus and Nashville, not to mention a few others! Wow. They must be really underrating the sharks d and nabby. If the sharks play as a team and play feisty, this prediction is going to look silly ...

OMG this is pathetic! they got Christian Ehrhoff at #5 for impact rookies!!! 5!!!

Dimitrakos 1 ...mabey...2 Zalesak..mabey

but Ehrhoff #5???? Not even a mention of Michalek.
