Ben Knopp

Last year we saw the shine wear off on the potential of right winger Ben Knopp. His status as a decent prospect took a major hit when he spent most of the season in Dayton and didn't necessarily set the nets on fire. People said he was lazy and lacked the passion to make the next level.

This training camp he competed hard and looked solid. He was strong in the corners and worked the boards effectively. He was recently sent down to Syracuse for camp where he will have to earn a spot in the AHL.

The question is did his strong showing at camp help Knopp regain some of his prospect status, or is he still seen as a wasted third round pick?

I dont think he has reached the sure fire hit stage but his camp has defenitly improved his stock.

On the Other hand, Leclaires just fell 20 Spots Down.

You're basing this on getting thrown into a game against a full Rag$ roster with only a handful to actual NHLers on his squad?

Even the 1st home preseason game LeClaire played in wasn't very enticing. Granted he came in cold, but he looked super nervous, almost had the look of a deer in the headlights.

It's almost frustrating, you can see that the talent's there, the kid just needs swagger.
