How did LeClaire look against the Rag$

I know his line doesn't look pretty, 3 goals allowed on 10 shots, but considering the situation he was thrown into, how did he look?

Also, what happened to start the Fritsche - De Vries fight? I'll I can gather is that Ling hit Potty.

And does Goehring have an future in the NHL. Is he going to get some PT at the big club or are all the chips in LeClaire's pocket.

Well, I'm no Jackets fan, but I did watch the game. Rucinsky's goal was a rather poor rebound by Leclaire, but the other two weren't really his fault. One was a tip by Holik right in front and the other was a bad turnover by the Jackets. Petrovicky slaps a puck (on edge I believe) right around the slot right past Leclaire. Nothing that spectacular out of him though.

Ling totally flattened Poti. De Vries gives Ling a crosscheck in the back that sends Ling into the boards (not terribly hard though). Fritsche drops his gloves, grabs de Vries, and ends up separating with de Vries. Fritsche did pretty well hanging in there for awhile, even got de Vries' jersey over his head, but de Vries started throwing punches and the rookie was outmatched in the end. I was pretty impressed that Fritsche would step in there for Ling, who's a good fighter anyway, against a solid fighter in de Vries. He played on a line with Ling and Donald MacLean though; so, Fritsche was mainly a forechecker all night, but that fight was good to see from a rookie. Ling also gave Kovalev a good solid hit in the 1st period and started a scrap with Petrovicky right at the end of the game. I hope Ling makes the club this year; he is a major pain to play against and is loads more interesting than watching little Tyler Wright agitate Lindros all night (though that was funny too).

The game was pretty nasty and it was fun to watch.

1.Leclaire sucks

2.Jody Shelley looked very good

3.NY Rangers-Columbus has the makings of a great rivalry if CBUS moves east

4.Trevor Letowski is a great pick up

5.Dan Fritische got his ass handed to him by De Vries

6.David Ling is gonna make the team this year.

Goehring will get a call up before Leclaire if a goalie on the big club goes down. Leclaire will have to earn his NHL time, it won't be handed to him.
