Well the Russian coach is finally happy that the team practiced at the Albert Shultz Halle because the conditions at the Stadhalle arena were horrible ... no ice, just water. He also added that this WCH should have been played in Canada!

Semin and Zinoviev are not going to play simply because they are not on the official roster yet. They will be added to the team after the preliminary round.

Semin, who had a sore throat, practiced for the 1st time since arriving to Austria.

I root for Belarus and I think that Mezin will be incredible and will lead them to an upset victory

End of the first. Still 0-0. The whole period seemed like a long powerplay for the Russians. Even Malkin had one or two great chances when shorthanded. Belarus had some nice chances as well. If Russia continues this way they should score.

End of the second. 1-0, Kharitonov. I am impressed how strong the Russians are. They are doing great in the corners and allways come out with the puck. Incredible!
But, the score is still 1-0! :madfire: Mezin is doing great, while Zvyagin didn't have much to do. Malkin line didn't play very much.

Anything good generated on the PP? Is Kovalchuk playing on the PP? Did we have any good chances in the 2nd beside the goal??

Russia make them look good. All shots have been bad and easy for Mezin to stop. The Belarus defence is pretty good though...the Russians have a little problem coming trough.

No,you are a great hockey nation(i wish your fans would admit that as much about us,it seems you never do,how you can't i don't know).Sweden won silver last year,U.S.A won bronze and they are our neighbors and probably biggest rivals right now because we have'nt faced you much head to head lately,that's why these teams are on the tube.I mean it's Sweden-Finland tonight and tsn can only carry so many games...they are on!!!Not Russia -Belarus.I'd like to watch it but given a choice i'll take the Swe-Fin game anyday. Pierre Mcquirre don't pick the f'in games.

I am still very surprised how the Belorussians were completely outmuscled in every play along the boards! Are they weak, or the Russians are so strong?

TSN, like any other television station, will show whatever they think will pull in higher ratings. Crying about it doesn't help.

I liked how Kalinin leveled Grabovsky. Nice clean hit.

And what about Kalinin's mistake that almost costed us a goal?! Stupid DSF put the comercials right after it, so I couldn't see the replay :banghead:

yeah but the standings do not mean anything because after the preliminary round both teams will have 3 points,and Russia has a better goal differential than Slovakia. The Czechs will have 4 points.
