After watching the Austrians play against the Russians, and knowing Belarus have had some good games in the not so distant past, I ain't betting against them.

That said, Slovakia must be the consensus "longshot" to win the tourney (which makes them not a longshot!).

Mezin has an outstanding game. It's not that the slovakians are bad, but mezin simply denies them in every situation...

Actually I'm watching the slovakian guys like Chara, Gaborik more... :blush:

Kostitsyn has played solid so far, outstanding are Mezin and Grabovsky who is very flashy and skilled in the offensive zone. He is the belarussian forward who causes the most problems for the slovakian defense.

Talk about being opportunistic.... Belarus outshot very badly but manages to tie this game up !

Belarus has managed to throw Slovakia off their game. They play tight defensively, Mezin has been outstanding and with Koltsov, Tsyplakov, Kostitsyn and especially Grabovsky they are always able to do some damage in Slovakia's defensive zone...

Now a powerplay for Belarus.

As impressive Belarus' game is, i hope Slovakia wins this one, otherwise austria would have a hard time avoiding the relegation round.

I did not know Marty was terrible but I guess he is :confused:

We should have had a penalty shot at the start of the 2nd as Palffy was on the break away. Mezin tried the pokecheck but totally missed and even didnt hit the puck (was way off). A clear penaly shot.
