I still think the kid has looked great from the camp games i went to, and I still have a lot of stock in his production. Of course you can say he was playing on the fourth line against the number line of STL, (Demitra, Raycroft, Tkachuk) and he was playing with Grand-Pierre and Shelley... One one hand you have Pronger, who's experienced, steady, dependable and fairly sound defensively ... but he is what he is at this point in his career (which is pretty much a reserve forward). On the other hand you have Fritsche, who is inexperienced, but brings speed, energy, better instincts for the game and has great upside .... but that inexperience can cost you. Besides I think team defense in general is to blame for st. louis running all over us in the second period. Dan Fritsche is one of the biggest surprises of any NHL camp this year, I like the kid's game and I think he will be a top 9 forward very soon. | ||
