Don't think anybody has done one of these in a while.

MacLean's goal to get the Devils into the 88 playoffs, and Arnott's to win the Cup in 2000, can duke it out for #1, but what goals round out the top 10?

here are some that should be in there

Brodeur's playoff goal vs Montreal
Arnott's OT win in 2000
Niedermayer's end-to-end rush vs Detroit in the 95 SCF
Friesen's goal vs Ottawa in game 7 of the 2003 ECF
Elias's goal in game 7 of the 2000 ECF vs Philly

One of my favorites: Ken Daneyko scoring in the finals agains Dallas
One of my favorites has no real significance other than it was a great play: Scott Pellerin flipping backwards over the goalie and swining it into the net on his back.

I thought that was Peter Stastny? Flipping over Kelly Hrudey (I know it was a Kings goaltender).

Anyway. I agree with the above 5 and MacLean's goal. I think Mike Rupp's Cup winning goal in Game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals should be considered. It was a Cup winning goal, nevermind it was scored by Mike Rupp.

In terms of beauty: Erik Rasmussen's last year against the Rangers (who remembers that one??!!)

Patrik Elias' penalty shot against Damien Rhodes and the Atlanta Trashers in 2001.

In terms of memories: Ruppers goal, Claude Lemieux against the Flyers in 95, Patrik Elias against the Flyers in 2000, Friesen's goal in 2003, last but not least. Elias, centers......SHOT! SCORRRRRRRES! The New Jersey Devils, have won the Stanley Cup!

I would also include Rob Skrlac's from last year.

Of all the "unexpected" goals to ever happen...that was one for the ages!!! In his first game called up to NJ no less. :handclap:

Here's another one, Jersey boy Jimmy Dowd scoring the GWG against the Red Wings in game 2 of the SCF with about 1:36 left in the third to take a 2-0 series lead, that goal was huge, because if Jersey loses that game, it's a different series, that goal deflated the Wings.

Or same game, Scotty Niedermayer's end to end rush to tie the game at 2's where he went around 5 Wings, that goal was sick.

Another Niedermayer was the opener against Boston last year where he went end to end, that was pretty.

If you remeber that goal, Niedermayer shot first from the circle and the puck bounced straight out back to him and he put it in.

I have this on tape and I often watch it wondering if he did this on purpose.

Niedermayer's OT goal in 2004 on a intentionally blown face off by Scott Gomez. Can't remember who it was against. Boston maybe?

Devils goal I MOST remember, and I can't believe it's not mentioned here:

Brylin's goal is Period 3 against Detroit, Game 4. It gave us the two-goal lead and at that moment, I realized we were winning the Stanley Cup for the first time in our history.

I cried like a little *****.

Facts could be wrong regarding period or the goal differential, all I know is that when he scored from the slot, I looked over at my girlfriend (now wife) and said, "We just won the ****ing Cup."

Man, do I miss hockey.

That's one of my favorites too.....More recently, the Friesen goal to knock out the Sens in Game 7 of the eastern final.....I remember watching that game at a bar, and being the ONLY Devils fan there. I had to listen too all this "why are you cheering for them, you should be cheering for a Canadian team crap." :shakehead ) and constant "New Jersey sucks".....I just shook my head watched the Devils win the game, and then when I turned around to say something, I think I may have been the only person left in the bar :D

I'd actually rank Friesens goal better than Rupp's goals. If Friesen doesn't score that game against the Sens, we may not have even had the chance to have seen Rupp do what he did, besides, he was right place right time, that was Nieuwendyk's line to begin with. Nice list though.
