since he is back in juniors and only missed about 5 games do you think that 2-3 weeks at training camp will help him; will he suffer from fatigue and struggle eary?

My prediction: He will start off real hott. He had a good camp and i feel he will build on that.

Thoughts?

I assume this is Steve Bernier?

I expect him to get a WJHC invite and make the team.

Since the beginnig of the season he is not that hot.

But to be honest, I have predicted the same kind of numbers as you.

I think that since his concusion in the camp for team canada he is not the same player, can someone who can see him play correct me if im false

Well i saw him at sharks training camp. He realy only has one weakness, he seams to get lost on d-fensive zone covarage, but if he has a monster year it is possible he will be in the nhl next year.

Bernier MA is good but he is the 4th or 5th threat on CB, Steve Bernier is everything up front for Moncton

I live in Moncton and have had the opportunity to watch him play twice this year... Once vs. PEI and once vs. Cape Breton...

Against PEI the entire Wildcats team was pathetic... It was likely one of the worst performances I've seen from the Wildcats ever... Bernier didn't really do anything special and yes, he did look defensively lost...

The game against Cape Breton was a different story... The team played much better and Bernier looked solid out there... He was still fairly lost defensively, but laid out a couple big hits and from watching him in the corners and in front of the net, there's no denying the guys talent... When he decides he's going to get the puck to the net, he's going to get it there...

Overall, there's still some laziness in him, which is the biggest reason for his defensive issues... I think he'll likely catch fire once he gets used to the pace of junior again... It's a big change to go from NHL training camp to the slower pace of major junior... Honestly, I think his numbers will be fairly similar to last year's... maybe an extra 10 points, but that's about it... The Wildcats seam to be getting hot, unbeaten in 4, and Bernier has started to pick it up... He was 3rd star the other night...

And on a side note, Marc-Andre Bernier didn't stand out at all for Cape Breton in that game... He was pretty much invisible...

I watch Cats games ALL the time, and I gotta say, they have a very underated little team. Bernier isn't all they have up front by a long shot. Offensively, they have a lot of talent with Luke Pelham, Matheiu Betournay, and although he's a Dman, James Sanford has a wicked shot and offensive mind.

The last game I watched was against the Eagles, and the only person that stood out on either team IMO was Corey Crawford. That guy is a great little goalie. His Form is amazing, if he gets his speed up, he'll be a wall. Anyway, back to the matter at hand, Bernier.

Bernier seems to have an extra jump in his step since returning from SJ. I think they must have put him to work knowing how bad of shape he's in, and it's shown. He's faster, and still has the fundamentals that made him go so high in the draft. I predict that he will have a great year, although it will be foreshadowed by Crosby. No one will notice Bernier's 125+ points, when Crosby gets 150+.

Who exactly under-rated Moncton? They were a concensus top 3 team before the season started.

The fans underrate Moncton, not the league.

Even people in Moncton think the team sucks, and the only time we can sell out an audience is when crosby is in town.

Maybe sucking for 2.5 years left a sour taste to some fans. Maybe some moved on?

From talking to people in Moncton, they have given up hope. They say the team was nothing for a good couple of years. There are some folks that say this year will be different.

If they make the play-offs things will deffenently change.

We were in the play-offs last year! Bernier had that untimely appendix operation, which left our team in a bit of a hole, which they never recovered from. The games last year had a lot of following. This year though, there are tons of empty seats...

It's not an "if we make the play-offs" kinda thing, it's when! We're winnin' it all this year.

As long as we can get by those pesky Olympiques.

Sorry my bad. Most of missed that. With Halifax in last year, I did not really care about any other team.

As for the Olympiques    .....I don't want any trouble.
