Recently, as a result of boredom, I was looking through HockeyDB to find each franchise's most recent 100 point scorer.
The active franchise who had gone the longest without one was New Jersey..
not only that, but New Jersey has NEVER had a 100 point scorer. This goes back past the days of the Colorado Rockies and to the beginning of the Kansas City Scouts - 1974/75. That's 29 seasons without a single 100 point scorer. The next most recent is the Washington Capitals, who haven't scored 100 since Dino Ciccarelli in 1984/85.
I know NJ's early failure as a franchise can be blamed, and I also know that NJ's recent success as a defensive franchise can be blamed, but I still find it quirky.
Just an interesting trivia I discovered and thought I'd share.
