How long do you have to make a trade or drop a player? i would probably drop him by next week if he hasn't signed with anyone..

time isn't an issue really, i just won't be able to trade him if people know he isn't signed.

I read in the LA Times (sorry no link) that he wants to play close to his family in Toronto. He has had talks with Buffalo. But obviously no deal. Sadly, he will not sign with the Ducks, due to geographical reasons. I think that as the season gets real close, or in the first few weeks of the season he will be signed. By then, teams will have a good read on their young players, and I'm sure some team will make a move for an established vet who, despite his age, proved last year that he can still score. I don't think he will light it up to the extent that he did at the end of the regular season and playoffs with the Ducks. But I would think if he is signed early enough he could score 10 goals, and about 10-15 assists.

Buffalo sounds good for him, Irony would be us trading for him again at the deadline for a rent a player vet.

I love Thomas and all but he has to make up his mind. He put himself in this situation and there is no one to blame but himself. If he wanted to play for a contender, he should had agreed to go back to Anaheim when we had the money and roster spot to give. But he wanted to shop around in the East coast and found no takers. What's eventually going to happen is that Thomas will sign on some team like Nashville or Atlanta and hope for a trade to a contender at the Deadline.
