Hi guys

In Germany there are rumours that Anaheim assistant coach Lorne Henning will become new head coach of the DEG Metro Stars. The Metro Stars have a new manager in Lance Nethery and Henning and Nethery are supposed to be friends. Nethery also said to German media that Henning "would be an excellent coach", but added that Henning would have to sort out some contact problems with Anaheim if he was to come to Europe.

I wonder if you could give me some information on Henning? Is he a defensive-minded coach or is he rather a run and gun type of coach? And most importantly do you thank that he is a good coach?

Thanks in advance.
Take care

you might be better served asking on the Islanders board as he served as a head coach there a number of times, most recently for part of the 2000-01 season. His prescence isn't as obvious here. Henning and Maclean mainly take care of the special teams, I believe.

Henning's contract would (assumingly) expire in June along with the rest of the coaching staff, unless I am mistaken.

I'm pretty sure his contract will end this summer and he can go to Europe if he pleases.
