Tallackson was first star in a 5 - 3 win tonight for the Rats. He had a goal and an assist on 3 shots and was plus 1 in his first game.

Bryan Miller had his first pro point also with an assist on tthe Gionta goal.

Ari Ahonen stoped 29 of 32 shots for the win.

Tallackson, although a bit lucky, really played a great game in my opinion. If there was one thing I would like to see him do, it's to hit more. Didnt really bring a lot to the table physically. Granted, he was still great in his first pro game.

Bryan Miller is really good. I would call him the best Rats dman right now-not really saying too much, but he made some great defensive stops and added an assist. Rafalski-esque in a way.

Matt DeMarchi got absolutely killed physically tonight. Not a good game for him.

I really liked Miller too! Not big, not very fast, but very calm with the puck (unlike the rest of our defensemen!) and not afraid to get involved offensively. Played both on the powerplay and on the pk if I'm not mistaken.

I thought Tallackson seemed a bit nervous, but still played a pretty good first period. You could really see his ridiculous reach on the goal. He kind of disappeared later in the game, though.

Tallackson is in the right hands though, he is only going to get better as a rat. His skill set alone is enough to make a team like Minny cry after he wasted it for so long.

Now lets get Zajac in there! :)

I agree Ratsgirl. He was a bit tentative, and lets face it, his assist was total luck as Dubewlitcz (sp, lol) botched it. Speaking of Wade, whats happened to this guy? He was outstanding last year, but this year, meh.

They didnt play Barry as much as the game progressed.

I thought Voros had a pretty solid game as well. Took a few penalties, but he seems to be getting a bit stronger and is somewhat like Holik in that he gets under the opponents skin. Saw that with #7 from Bridgeport with he and Janssen.

Allen seemed somewhat rowdy tonight too.

And God, DeMarchi, come on. He and Voros better get a personal trainer over the summer and work out every day. Both of them need to hit 210 or 215.

Glad to see Bryan getting some ice. As Im sure all of you can see, the kid is not only a offensive force bu a rock on D as well. Hopefully with a bit more development he will be ready for the 3rd offesnive defenceman place in Jersey.
