LANSINGBURGH -- It was like old times for the Albany River Rats during practice Tuesday at Knickerbacker Arena, even for a couple of newcomers.
The Rats practiced many times in the 1990s at the Knick whenever Pepsi Arena wasn't available, but they hadn't been back this season until Tuesday's session, which saw former University of Minnesota forward Barry Tallackson skate with the club for the first time.
The setting was new to Tallackson, but the 6-foot-4 winger was reunited with former Minnesota teammate Matt DeMarchi and Albany's most recent addition, former Boston University defenseman Bryan Miller, who played with Tallackson on the U.S. under-18 national team when they were high schoolers in Michigan.
