Ok, it seems quite inevitable that Ducks do not have room for all three of Saunders, O'Brien and Smith. All are basicly from the same mold with little differences, especially Saunders and O'Brien. At some it could be that Ducks have to trade one of them to a team lacking d-men prospects (Canucks, Habs etc) so the question is this, which one of these 3 would you trade and why?

O'Brien, I think he has less upside than the others

Why not keep all 3? Smith is more of a Jackman/Foote type. Saunders is like Colin White/Hatcher. O'Brien is like Marchment/Karpa agitater.

I would hold onto all 3. It is way to early to tell if our D prospects will pan out. You have to keep in mind that not all of our D prospects will turn into the player we want and expect them to become. Saunders has yet to play a game in the pro's, Smith is getting his feet wet right now and O'Brien has shown great progress but he to is only in his second season in the AHL. Smith will return to the O next year, hopefully Saunders is signed so he can play in Cinci. I think right now it is hard to judge where the organization is. Next year if the NHL is finally back and settled will tell alot about our prospects. Will smid come over to American like he said, will popovic be able to handle the NHL, will Salei still be in Anaheim or gone as UFA? if he is gone then Foster will probably move up and then we will have 2 spots in Cinci, for Saunders/Rogers/Smid? If Cinci gets to crowded with D prospects than I would let Brookbank go and give his spot with someone who might make the NHL. If we had to pick one to trade than for me it would be between Saunders and O'Brien. I would most likely keep Smith.

none keep all 3.
2 of them in the lineup and 1 of O'Brien/Saunders as the 7th D-man Lance Ward utility role.

There is no reason to think we couldn't make room for all three if they deserve it. Time in the AHL will tell with all. And to be honest. Carney and Ozo adn Salei won't be around much longer. There is no reason why we couldn;t see all three in a Ducks jersey down the lone

The other question is can Foster, Popovic,Smid or Skoula qb the powerplay? If yes then the Ducks could have 1 physical Dman on all 3 combonations.
Smid/Smith
Saunders/Foster
Skoula or Popovic/O'Brien

:yo: We will be needing all three, no need to select two!!

Not likely. Or at least, none are likely to end up as an elite point man, though a couple of them have enough skill to be a PP contributor.
