He's been instrumental in Chistov getting tougher and assisting Lupul on almost every one of his goals. Maybe next year put him on a line with Perry and Getzlaf

Put him with Pahlsson and a decent enforcer, and you've got yourself a line that you can send out to rattle opposing scoring lines, win faceoffs, work the boards, protect a lead, and who can handle things when things get a little chippy. I'd rather have guys like Perry and Getzlaf playing with an established veteran, to kind of take some of the pressure off.

Konopka reminds me more and more of Matthew Barnaby: afraid of anyone and he doesn't back down from anybody, has a scoring touch, goes under the skin of the opponents.
If he can translate his successfull year in the AHL at the NHL level we have the prototype of the ideal fourth liner.

Barnaby is more a 2nd/3rd liner which is Konopka's upside. Perry and Getzlaf are yrs from being 1st liners themselves so it makes for a great line.
