Ahren Nittel's 24th goal of the season secured a 3-2 road victory for the Rats against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Rats have now won 5 in a row; 3 straight on the road. This is the first time since March of 2003 that the Rats have won 5 straight games.

-Cam Janssen became the third River Rat in history to pass 300 penalty minutes in a season after a second-period fight with Eric Godard. (edit: the others were Matt Ruchty in 93-94 and 94-95 and Oliwa in 96-97)
-Ari Ahonen has posted five straight wins.
-Zach Parise returned after missing the past three games.

3 Stars:
#1 Gionta
#2 Nittel
#3 Tallari

The Rats now travel to Norfolk for two games this weekend.

And more and more I keep getting excited about this Nittel kid more than anyone on Albany including Parise. We have plenty of young skilled and speedy players with Gomez and Gionta, but the one thing we are lacking is big forwards with the type of talent that he has been showing so far.

I'll tell you this, I'd put him ahead Suglobov and only behind Parise right now on his chances on making the Devils next year.

I'll be there & probably @ morning skates too. Norfolk came back to win 4-2 after philly was up 2-0 @ last nights game. Should be good games. As "hot " as ahonen is, I'm sure Clemmy will start one of the games.

Cam might be 5'9'', but he is also 215lbs. He is extremely strong. Ive seen him drag 6'4'' guys around the ice. The guys got heart, and hey, if Skrlac can get called up, maybe Janssen at some point. Hes a good enforcer.

And man can he hit...
