This is a good example of how stupid it is to have a breakaway contest at the end of a game.

1 breakaway contest goal gives a team an extra point in the standings. :shakehead

Either get rid of the shootout or go to a 3 points 2 points 1 point system.

3 points for regulation/overtime win.

2 points for shootout win.

1 point for overtime/shootout loss.

That gives Grand Rapids 80 points in 72 games.

Houston and Cincy should each have 81 points in 72 games if the scores don't change.

looks like Alexi has hurt his shoulder again!! this time he says it is very serious and will require major surgery. He is going to try and finish out the season before commiting to surgery because that will put him out for around 3 months. gosh, I just can't believe his luck with this shoulder....isn't this something like the third time his shoulder has been injured? well I wish Alexi all the best for the rest of the season and on his surgery whenever that must take place!

tomas malec says he still isn't over his concussion...but hopes to be skating soon and get back into the line-up!!

and joel perrault has injured his ribs!!


looks like we are falling apart before the play-offs! let's hope the guys can get healthy and we do well during the post season :)
