"Aaron has made as few mistakes as any first year defenseman in the league,' head coach Brad Shaw said. "He has played like a veteran for most of the year."

"He stepped in a filled a big hole we felt we had on defense this year. He's done more than what we expected this year and he has done exactly what he expected," Shaw said. "He has allowed us to have success with a very young defense core and he is a big reason why we are in position to play for a playoff spot."

Eddy Ferhi update:

The San Diego Gulls have announced that goaltender Eddy Ferhi has been named the Kristy’s MVP/Stewart Benjamin Jewelry Player of the Month for March. Ferhi will be presented the award in a pre-game ceremony before the Friday, April 8 game against the Victoria Salmon Kings.

Ferhi racked up a 5-6-0 record with a 2.67 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in March. He also recorded his first two professional shutouts in a 4-0 victory over the Fresno Falcons on March 5 and a 2-0 win against the Long Beach Ice Dogs on March 25.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 197-pound native of Charenton, France is 13-12-1 overall this season with a 2.78 GAA and .916 save percentage. The American Hockey League’s Cincinnati Mighty Ducks assigned him to San Diego on Dec. 10, then again on Jan. 1.

Looks like Lupul is trying to take the Ducks to the playoffs on his own! :yo:

He did something like that with his junior club a few years ago, just caught fire and carried them offensively for a while. Now he's doing it at the minor pro level, so let's hope he's turned a corner in his development.

 Lupul ! Cassivi with a HUGE ....9 saves? A couple of those shots were probably on the 5 minute powerplay to. Cincy's D must have been on its game.

 :joker:

Good effort by the defense but San Antonio is not exactly a strong team.

Ya think?

That game must have made Marty Brodeur jealous.
