Hey Devil fans, on April 7, we get to watch two of our kids go face to face. Nice to hear that these two helped there respective teams advance to the semis. I've never seen Zajac play, so it should be fun. Will ESPN be televising the Frozen Four?

UND is playing well and I'd look for them to advance tonight: http://www.uscho.com/news/2005/04/01_010527.php Tallackson could be in Albany next week?

In Canada it looks as though it will be on the NHL network. Luckily I subscribe to it so I will be able to watch it. Now I am all excited, the only exposure I get on the two of them is from this forum, this should be interesting.

A powerplay goal and a shorthanded goal for Zajac so far tonight. UND up 4-1.

I know I've gotten on the ESPN crew a number of times in the past, but it was sure sweet music to my ears to hear them do tonight's game! Zajac was impressive and came up big when he had too. As for Tallackson, hardly noticed him, bad sign for a big kid like him. I sure hope they work some magic with him in Albany!

Zajac, who missed an open net twice earlier in the game, put the Sioux ahead 3-0 with a power-play goal 45 seconds into the third period. Drew Stafford skated to the net off the left-wing boards and Briggs made a save on his shot, but Zajac collected the rebound and scored.

I don't know whether it is adventageous for Travis to sign or continue at UND. Obviously I don't want to see him leave for major junior. Lou has to play this correctly.

I hope everybody caught the short-handed goal by Zajac, it was a thing of goal scoring beauty.

Wow.

I've been seeing alot of both of these players all season long and I can't say enough about them. I urge anyone who hasn't seen them yet to watch these games because these kids look like their going to be very good players.

Date-night last night for the wife and me. What did she want to do? "Let's watch the Devils' prospects," she said. My heart raced with excitement, and I have to admit a few tears began to well up in my eyes. We watched the whole game, ate pizza (buffalo chicken pizza from a local pizzaria) and then . . . well let's just say it was a great night.:)

Now to the game -- I was impressed with Zach's older brother tonight big-time. Jordan has a place in the NHL. Maybe not as a starter, but he was outstanding. His confidence in net was amazing considering the circumstances (Frozen Four). And what can we say about Zajac? He could have easily had a hat trick last night. Great line with him and Stafford. What about that Spirko kid from Slovak? That was a fun game last night to say the least.

Here is a preview/matchup from inside college hockey.....

Skill: Skill is something we often associate with the offensive end of the ice, but true to the Sioux’s nature, their most skilled player isn’t an offensive specialist. Freshman Travis Zajac can do it all, from winning key faceoffs to blocking shots to storming the net. He’s got soft hands for a big guy, and an ability to either score (17 goals) or set up his linemates (19 assists).

Must say Zajac has really turned it on in the playoffs. I didn't see the goals against Minnesota but not every player has the nerves to finish off a play when it really matters. Clutch goals are a big time bonus IMO.

I would let this kid stay another year in the NCAA and really dominate then move him on to the AHL or NHL. This way his confidence is pretty much maxed out and he will be even mre ready for the Pro Hockey challenge.

Jersey doesn't usually rush there better prospects anyhow which is good.

Did someone say Tallackson was gonna finish up the year in Albany or something?

How did he end up missing 2 empty net goals?? Bad angles interference froma defender?? The 2 goals look nice but not as nice if he missed 3 forsure goals before that. Considering his overall playoff performance and regualr season I would say that he doesn't have that much trouble with finishing plays or setting them up for that matter.

Yeah this is tough for GM's as you dont want to lose a prospect this good b/c of a loophole.

It's too bad Van Ryn did what he did. He would have been a perfect fit right about now. But we did get a compensatory pick for losing him......who did we draft with that pick?

Alexander Suglobov. I'd rather have Van Ryn, but Suglobov looks like he'll at least make the show at some point.

Too bad Zajac didn't get to win a National Championship.....but he got his 20th goal of the season and had 6 points in his last 3 games (5 goals and 1 assist).

And Zajac was named to the all-tournament team!!!

ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM

UND Zajac (F),

Denvers Gauthier (F), Stastny (F), Skinner (D), Carle (D) and Mannino (G).

Mannino was named Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player.

Great season and exceeded expectations...Gotta be happy with this kid.

Am I wrong, or is Stastny still undrafted? He was outstanding in the USHL last year, and if he is just sitting out there undrafted . . . well . . . duh, let's get him to Albany.

We've gotta get that UND line in New Jersey, Buffalo needs a good d-man for the future, and we've got a couple, get Stafford and Zajac on a line, and that Slovak kid too while we're at it.
