I'm going to the Sharks/Coyotes game here in Portland tomorrow and was going to take a list of players just to familiarize myself with the new numbers of the young guys that will be playing from camp, and I have a list but there seems to be one extra player... supposedly there are 37 left and I have 38, and I can't figure out who else is gone, can you help?

Olson has a broken hand/wrist... so maybe the sharks aren't officially counting him as being in camp anymore (or didn't mention anything when he was released... not 100% sure there).

At a quick glance, I'd say that's where the difference is. :)

BTW, have fun! I went up to portland three years ago for a Sharks/Wild preseason game (the first game the Wild actually played against another NHL team too)...

Thanks, I sort of figured it might be him, but wasn't sure. I'm really looking forward to it, I just moved here from SF and was lamenting the loss of Sharks games. I just noticed the Portland game the other day when searching for which pre-season games were going to be on radio. Definitely a nice surprise.

I was compiling this list myself yesterday.

It's interesting that DiSalvitore, Stevenson, and Valette are still up. I'm very happy for those three: especially Valette. (I fully expected this from DiSalvitore and Stevenson) I suppose when you consider how San Jose likes Loyns, there's no reason not to like Valette as much, so...

The next group down will probably have DiSalvitore, Stevenson, Valette, Clowe, Kotyk, Moscevsky and Carkner. Maybe they'll send Boyes down, but I kind of bet they'll give him a real long look, regardless of how Stevenson might be doing better...(did you just read that??? :) ) Regardless of Cleveland last year, how can Carkner possibly land a spot? After Davison has proven himself? And if Ehrhoff or Preissing aren't the sixth defenseman, I'll start a petition in the Silicon Valley for a recall.

When Baron and x0n mentioned that Wilson mentioned Davison as 6th...I kind of get the feeling we all had this reaction: uh?
