There seems to be some sites popping up for the new teams. I figured i'd let everyone know what they are.

Fog Devils:

http://www.purrr.org/stjohns/

Sea Dogs:

One of the Fog Devils sites has a personnel page which lists former St. John's Maple Leaf Andrew McKim as assistant GM and director of player personnel. A brilliant move for an expansion team, as McKim is recognizable in the community and was (and likely still is) a fan favourite.

edit: why did I think he was a long-time Leaf? Perhaps I over-romanticize the early Leaf teams from my youth...

disagree about mckim! he has no experience and he's very disliked in the local hockey community. bad, bad, bad hiring by dobbin.

Is he really? Has that changed recently? I do agree with the no experience part.

I was under the impression (going back a few years ago) that he thought highly of the city. Or was it a case where it wasn't reciprocated?

mckim was a fan favorite when he played here, but that was 13 years ago.

i don't know him personally, but some people who do say he's not very well liked. i hear they'll have a hard time getting his head to fit into mile one. :lol

i don't really know how he got the job of running this hockey team. no experience at all. i mean, he used to play hockey, and he runs a hockey school. that's it.

Yeah, see my edit... I really remembered him playing here longer until I looked it up.

Anyway, it looks more like a PR move than a hockey move. Like I said, I agree that he has no experience, but assistant GM for a junior team isn't exactly a highly-scrutinized position; perhaps he can learn to do the job well if given the chance and some guidance.
