Weekly article at team site, feature on Holmqvist:

“Michael’s skill level is high, his ability to handle the puck and pass the puck," Ducks assistant coach Dan Bylsma said. "When you put those together, you have a player that can add to the speed of your team and when you have a player with speed and skill you can do a lot of different things."

“I’m just trying my best to do what I do best – play hockey. I want to get stronger as a player, stronger with the puck and try to be consistent every night,” said Holmqvist. “When you play this many games, you’re going to have nights off for sure, but I want to keep them as few as possible.”

I was listening to the Knight's playoff game so I was shocked that they had 3 goals all of a sudden when I checked the scoring sheet. Good job by Lupul: 1 goal 2 assists

Good job by Lupul: 1 goal 2 assists

3 points within 3 minutes but it was to little to late for Cincy (still a solid comeback though).

West division standings after this loss:

Chicago: 70 games 93 points
Milwaukee: 69 games 92 points
Cincinnati: 68 games 75 points
Houston: 69 games 75 points
Grand Rapids: 67 games 73 points
San Antonio: 70 games 58 points
Utah: 68 games 43 points

Only the top 4 teams make the playoffs so Cincy's toughest competition to make it are going to be Houston and Grand Rapids.

McAlpine still isn't ready to be playing...Smirnov should be on defense will Malec is recovering from his concussion!! Once McAlpine stopped playing with 5 minutes or so to go in the game....OUR TEAM CAME ALIVE AND STARTED TO SCORE!!!

Let's hope we can do better tonight :)

Actually McAlpine had a pretty solid game.
I was there and the problem did not lie on the defense. It was the offense that seemed to sputter for 4/5 of the game. No crisp passing, no strong skating, no pressure on the Milwaukee defenders.

Lupul, and Shane O'brien had the best all-around games. Glenncross was given three breakaways and couldn't finish any of them.

On defense, fairly solid game all around, with Rome and Foster having the best games. Popovic had the worst game IMO.

Goal breakdown:
On Gamache's first period goal: broke in on left side with a heavy shot, beat Cassavi glove side, probably like to have that one back.

Severson picks up a rebound and sends it home after a scramble in front.
Smithson early into a powerplay, what a pretty power play, no wonder they have the best PP in the AHL, finishes a pretty passing play putting it into the backdoor.

Fiddler finishes a rush that crashes the net, Cassavi is very frustrated at this point.

Several chances early in the first and throughout third for the Ducks to get on the board, but are not awarded for their efforts, as Milwaukee's D and Kotnyk are pretty solid. Several Ducks, including Lupul, Glenncross, Chistov visably frustrated.

Ducks luck out late in the third as Brad Tiley gats a five minute major for high-sticking and then PK man Smithson picks up a minor.
Ducks score on the 5 on 3 and then again on a 5 on 4. In last minute pull goalie and score on the 6 on 4. Lucky break makes the game look way closer than it actually was.
