The River Rats snapped their six-game losing streak and picked up their 20th win of the season by defeating the Springfield Falcons (last place in the Atlantic Division and already eliminated from playoff contention) by a 1-0 score. Ari Ahonen picked up his 10th win and second shutout of the year and Zach Parise collected his team-leading 5th game-winner (and second GWG against the Falcons), bringing him to 51 points for the season; one point shy of Dean McAmmond's 52 points. The River Rats only dressed 17 skaters for the game, and they played without David Hale and Brian Gionta who both are being eased back into game-shape. Both Hale and Gionta are expected to be back in the lineup tomorrow afternoon as the Rats face Bridgeport in a 4pm matinee in Albany.

Ahonen could get on another hot streak. If this guy ever developed consistancy he would be an NHL goaltender right now.
