quote of the week:

“I think our overall attention to detail as far as what we are trying to accomplish on the ice has to get better and I think playing on the road makes you pay more attention because you have to and if you don’t you gets stung because the home team usually has the advantage. So I think its good for us heading into this playoff stretch where we’ve got a lot of big games against teams that we’re battling for the least few spots, I think its important to know how to win on the road and I think it will help our overall game. “ ~ Mighty Ducks head coach Brad Shaw.

feature on Popovic:

“Mark came in already having a maturity level and polish to his game that is very rare for a first year defenseman coming out of junior,” commented Ducks head coach Brad Shaw. “For his age, he has a poise and confidence beyond his years. But from day one he’s been tweaking and working on ways to be more efficient and do be even better in what he does.”

“I think I’ve come along way since playing junior in Canada. It’s a big difference between playing junior hockey and playing pro and [head coach] Brad Shaw has helped me a lot and worked with me,” said Popovic. “I think I’ve just matured as a player.”

Wheres the new guy?

probably needs to practice with the team for a week before they put him in the lineup.

I'm sure he isn't in game shape.

After 2 periods it is still tied.

1-1.

Bryz has 13 saves on 14 shots.

Lehtonen has 29 saves on 30 shots.

Looks like the Ducks have been dominating play but can't get a second goal past the #1 goalie prospect in the world.

Wheres the new guy?

They said during the 1st intermission that he has been practicing with the team the past few days but isnt in game shape yet...

Also Stepp wont be called up to Cinci unless he is needed and will stay in SD
Also Pohonka has not been sent to SD and he will be staying with the Ducks to practice but wont be playing...

And one more thing... once any Jr or NCAA player has finished with their team for the season they can be signed for a tryout contract with the Ducks...
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO We might be seeing Getzlaf playing with the Ducks this season as his Jr team is slated for an early playoff exit

What a disappointing finish.

Bryz 17 saves on 20 shots.

Lehtonen 41 saves on 43 shots.

Bryz needs to play a lot better than that, he clearly got outplayed by Chicago's goalie.
