Does he stick this year, or another year of teasing with his talent?
Andrej NedorostThrasherfan 09-22-2003, 07:13 PM Does he stick this year, or another year of teasing with his talent? Oz 09-23-2003, 04:22 AM He's making a better case than what he did last season. He made a pretty sick stick move before passing it to Cassels for the goal on Sunday. He was out on the PK and didn't look out of place or lost. His defensive game is coming along, he's really starting to round it. If he's not on the roster by opening night, he'll be one of the first injury callups. Waiting for jackets63 mandotory "Nedorost sucks" post in... 5... 4... 3... :joker: Samkow 09-23-2003, 12:01 PM IMO, Nedorost should play 4th Line Center and move up when theres an injury. jackets63 09-23-2003, 02:01 PM Nedorost su.... hey, wait. Im not walking into that one. :p I was very impressed with that play. As he danced around two guys, all I could think about was how much **** I was going to take on these boards. :D Had a very impressive game. Looked good. But (here we go again...) he also looked this good last preseason as well and went on to a ho-hum season in both leagues. (Should I point out the fact that no one is writing about how well Jean Luc is playing this preseason? Nah, better not.) IMO, Nedorost should play 4th Line Center and move up when theres an injury. Which of his qualities lead you the most to think he should be a 4th liner, his lack of grit or his lack of defense? I say play him where he is, on a top line, for as long as a spot is open and he is playing well. When Sandy comes back, send him down and let him know that he is going to have to be the most dominant offensive player in Syracuse if he wants to be the first callup. If he accepts and meets the callenge, we'll have an amazing player to watch for years to come. If he either sulks at the demotion or really doesnt have the goods (I have no reason to believe that either will be the case) then we just found out alot about him without having to waste the ice time. I still say he has to earn his spot with his play during a regular season. For a player who oozes skill like he does, he needs to show that he is too good for the AHL before he can be a regular on the top two lines of an NHL team. I will repeat: I DONT THINK NEDOROST SUCKS. I just dont think we should give him a spot on a scoring line of an NHL team until he earns it. Especially not this team whos scoring lines are much improved. Samkow 09-23-2003, 02:17 PM Which of his qualities lead you the most to think he should be a 4th liner, his lack of grit or his lack of defense? Lack of Defense-I dont see how he can be worse then our current center Sean Pronger, Pronger somehow finished -26 well managing 11:30 of ice time a game avearage. I dont think he nessicarly needs to be a tough player to play on the 4th line. Remember, we wil have Shelley adn Grand-Pierrie/Ling on the Wings so that line will not lack Grit and Toughness. It may not last but it would be interesting. If JLGP can do what GMDM is asking of him, he and Linger could fly around making defenders' lives difficult on the forecheck and Neddie could provide speed and some offensive flair. I've seen him show some grit on the boards when he had to but he would have to step up to the defensive responsibilities. Also, Ling has displayed some surprising offensive instincts. This experiment might have to be terminated quickly but it has wome interesting potential if it worked. | ||
