Any error in the lineup was from what the AHL originally had up. They also originally had Jacobson in the lineup and he did not dress for the game.

Only those 22 players listed on a team's Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the AHL regular season and Calder Cup playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of injury or suspension. Teams may add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts after Clear Day, but only once their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

This is EXACTLY why hockey teams use enforcers. Ducks best d-man was taken out because without Jacobsen he's our toughest guy.

Well if you are thinking Jacobson is going to help this team you are dead wrong. Gosh, the guys can barely play a shift...and I think O'Brien can at least win a fight!! I'm not impressed one bit with Jacobson...but the DUCKS seem to love him grrrr :dunno:

Jacobson doesn't need to play many shifts, he's not that much of a liability that he can't be given 5-10mins per night. He only needs to show that we have a willing fighter dressed meaning that if the opponents plan to start some sheningans we're ready for it.

Well that thinking hasn't done much for us this season!! He may be grea in the ECHL, but he hasn't been able to hold his own in AHL so far and the season is almost over...I'd much rather see O'Brien or Sheldon in the line-up than Jacobson any day of the week. I guess we can always hope for improvement on his part!

Ummm Jacobson doesn't replace O'Brien or Sheldon in the line-up, it's a player like Pohanka or some other 3rd-4th liner who gets replaced.

I wouldn't mind seeing better fighter than Jacobson, Davis could fight but he can't skate to save his life.

Say Jacobson was playing, he wouldn't have been on the ice when it happened and O'Brien being the kind of player he is would of done the same thing he did. I don't see the result being any different if he was in the line-up.

Could be, then again it O'Brien probably knew it was up to him to pay back since he was the toughest guy dressed. Had Jacobson been there he could have let him settle the score later.

I would love for that rule to be taken out but the fact is it isn't. I think the result of the game would have been the same because Jacobson probably wouldn't even get a shift against Callahan and if he did Callahan wouldn't have to fight him, Jacobson would of gotten atleast a 2 min penalty or more. With the way the rules are right now it is stupid to have a guy like Jacobson in if you have better players. You need guys who can fight and still take a normal 4th line shift and I don't know maybe have more than 1 shot in 20 games or however many he had. It is to bad Burnett couldn't get a visa because he would have been a good fit for Cincy to help improve his skills while acting as our tough guy.

I was at the game with this scrum and right in front of where it happened. Lupul was ready to go and that fight was going to happen (and I doubt he would have not been pummeled) and O'brien wasted no time jumping in with a fury.

Should be Ryan Getzlaf in a couple weeks when Calgary is eliminated from the WHL playoffs.

Corey Perry probably won't play for Cincy this year since London is hosting the Memorial Cup.

I agree I look to see getzlaf here in cincinnati...and I'd much rather see him play than Jacobson. Who Wouldn't??? I think it would be a great situation for both him and the team :handclap:

Thank god im tired of hearing the *****ing about how bad Jacobson sucks!! I love the way he plays and can't wait for him to be back. I don't believe he got a fair chance up there. He is not the kind of guy who is gonna go into a fight and nock the other fighter out with 1 punch, but he is the kind of fighter who was fearless and would fight anybody and not take stupid penalties. I never really seen him or heard him lose a fight in Mississippi. I do not believe Cincy got the full chance to what he can do.
