The Fog Devils have announced their ticket prices for their first season. Tickets will be the highest in the QMJHL at $14.75, but considerably cheaper than current Maple Leafs tickets, which are $18.50-$20.50. Within that price is a $2.75 charge that will go directly to extra travel costs... which is expected to run the team between $400,000 -$500,000 a season.

Also, the team will announce their team colors and logo within the next seven to ten days. And I can't wait!!!!

$14.75? That's not bad. Halifax is $13.50 this season, would be surprised to hit $14 next year... so $0.75 - $1 more is pretty good for a team that's going to have the highest travel costs by far.

Hey Chris!!

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with the prices... I was actually expecting it to be higher. I figured they'd try to get away with prices comparable to what we're currently paying for AHL tickets.

Heh. Fancy seeing you over here. :)

Yeah, I figured they'd be higher too. I actually thought they'd use the excuse that it was because of the travel costs.

How many games are they playing next year with the expansion? Based on around 35 home games, a season seat shouldn't cost more than $600. That's not terrible. Hopefully it's closer to $500.

Word is that it'll be a 68 game season next year. So that would be 34 at home.

They're going to add two teams, and shorten the schedule? I thought they'd lengthen in.

Well the OHL has 20 teams and play 68 games.

The Q will have 18 teams and will play 68 games.

My opinion is that the ticket prices are a little high. By the end of the regular season, I will have attended 24 home games of the St. John's Maple Leafs this season at Mile One Stadium. Regular ticket prices for the St. John's Maple Leafs were $17.50 (Lower Bowl), and $19.50 (Upperbowl). Of the 24 games, I paid full price for 3 games - the season opener, and the final two home games. The only reason I paid full-price for these was because they were high demand games with no ticket specials.

The other 21 games were purchased at discounted prices. For example, Tuesday and Wednesday Games were "Student Nights" and students could show their Student I.D to get tickets for $10.

Saturday games were "Pepsi Family Nights" which was 4 Tickets, 4 Pepsi, and 4 Hot Dogs for $50 ($12.50 each). This was a very good deal.

The price that I have in my head as a reasonable price for students is $10 per game. If I could get season tickets for $350, I would be very happy. I think if the Fog Devils want to keep average attendance at Mile One Stadium high next season, they should be careful what they charge for tickets. People in St. John's have a "sour taste" in their mouths from the recent "backstabbing" by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Great deals on ticket prices will be the best way to get fans back into Mile One Stadium.

I actually heard this morning on the news that the management of the St. John's Fog Devils will delay announcing the team colors and logo until the St. John's Maple Leafs are finished their regular season. I guess the team has respect for the Leafs and they want to make sure fans are focused on the Baby Leafs heading down the stretch and into the playoffs.

The prices I listed are regular priced tickets, a student price will be announced at a later date... which from my understanding will be for all games. Personally I don't think the regular price is high... any lower and the team would be heading down the path of other sports franchises and be expecting playoff revenue to break even... which isn't a way to run a business.

As for the "sour taste", if people are going to take their dislike of MLSE out on a new, totally unreleated, franchise then that's up to them... if you ask me that's pretty dumb.
