Where have you gone CFOB...?lux_interior 03-08-2005, 03:54 AM ...A message board turns it's lonely eyes to you...ew..ew..ew. Seriously, when was the last time he posted here. Pepper 03-08-2005, 08:38 AM I drove him away after mercilessy slaughtering with verbal slashes. He left after that but not before accepting the fact that Burnett is greatness. :D McDonald19 03-08-2005, 05:23 PM ...A message board turns it's lonely eyes to you...ew..ew..ew. Seriously, when was the last time he posted here. He is an NHL or nothing at all guy. He stopped by and made a post when it was rumored that the NHL season would be saved a couple weeks ago. Spankatola Jamnuts 03-08-2005, 07:35 PM Not quite. I'm an Anaheim or nothing guy. I did try early on to get into how Cincy was doing and the kids in juniors etc., but I found that without a true context to place these events in it's pretty meaningless to me. For those with burning questions about my perspective: 1. I couldn't be more thrilled about the new owners. Pepper could have bought the team from Disney and I'd have been almost as thrilled. 2. I still don't understand how Corey Perry doesn't get more respect, seeing as how he's done everything you could possibly hope a 1st round pick would do in the season following being drafted. 3. Garret Burnett...still worthless. Lee Jacobsen....holy crap. Guess boxing doesn't help. Chistov wins more fights than that guy. 4. Speaking of Chistov, I'm starting to smell a bust. 5. Ducks or Mighty Ducks, either one's fine with me. 6. Lockouts are gay. That's it. See you when the Ducks are operational again. McDonald19 03-08-2005, 08:05 PM 2. I still don't understand how Corey Perry doesn't get more respect, seeing as how he's done everything you could possibly hope a 1st round pick would do in the season following being drafted. 4. Speaking of Chistov, I'm starting to smell a bust. Yeah I agree about Perry. I see him as our number 1 prospect now (I voted for Getzlaf as #1 back when we had the poll). Sadly I agree about Chistov as well. All the talent in the world but he just doesn't have to desire or determination to make it. I get the feeling he will be packaged in a trade within the next year or so. Chistov23 03-08-2005, 08:21 PM It was great to read your opinion on those topic's CFOB and we will see you in September (probably with our replacement team :dunno: ) I think Perry doesn't get alot of respect is because of a few reasons. First is that his skating isn't the fastest you have seen and so people pick on him for that. Combine that with his skinny body and that he is to weak to play at the pro level. And lastly, fans of other teams hate him because of the way he gets under their skin and thus I think they hold a negative opinion of him. This isn't what I think of him but why I think other people don't think he will make it. Yeah I agree about Perry. I see him as our number 1 prospect now (I voted for Getzlaf as #1 back when we had the poll). Perry is playing amazing right now but I wouldn't go as far to say he is currently a better prospect than Getzlaf. I think you are putting to much of that on stats alone. Speaking of Chistov, I'm starting to smell a bust. Sadly I agree about Chistov as well. All the talent in the world but he just doesn't have to desire or determination to make it. I get the feeling he will be packaged in a trade within the next year or so. I am as disapointed in Chistov's play as everyone else but I am going to hold my judgement on him until I see how he does once he is back in the NHL. Desire and Determination are not a problem with him imo. fez 03-08-2005, 09:17 PM Sadly I agree about Chistov as well. All the talent in the world but he just doesn't have to desire or determination to make it. I get the feeling he will be packaged in a trade within the next year or so. That had better be a good package, he still has the potential to come back and bites us in the ass like a lot of our former prospects have done. McDonald19 03-08-2005, 09:31 PM That had better be a good package, he still has the potential to come back and bites us in the ass like a lot of our former prospects have done. Well if there is an NHL season in 05/06 Chistov needs to establish himself as a top 6 forward. Pretty sure he is out of waiver options and can not play for Cincy next season if there is an NHL season. I hate to say it but he may need a change of scenery to reach his potential. I don't think the Ducks organization has done anything wrong but it's just the way it goes with some prospects. I hope I'm wrong though, maybe he will have a great training camp in September and play on a line with Feds and score 30 goals next season. McDonald19 03-08-2005, 09:36 PM 3. Garret Burnett...still worthless. Burnett will play in the upcoming WHA tournament. http://www.worldhockeyassociation.net/news/20050306000.php Jason Krog will also be there. A lot of grinders for a tournament that is supposed to jump start the new league: Jim Cummins, Tyson Nash, Travis Green, Matthew Barnaby, Sean Avery, Matt Cooke, Dallas Drake, Jeremy Stevenson, Andrew Peters, Brad Norton, Mike Keane, Ian Laperriere, Andre Roy Kevin Forbes 03-08-2005, 10:31 PM A lot of grinders for a tournament that is supposed to jump start the new league: Jim Cummins, Tyson Nash, Travis Green, Matthew Barnaby, Sean Avery, Matt Cooke, Dallas Drake, Jeremy Stevenson, Andrew Peters, Brad Norton, Mike Keane, Ian Laperriere, Andre Roy That's a business plan that worked wonders for the OSHL Dreamgirl 03-08-2005, 10:39 PM Good to see CFOB is still around, even if he isn't posting that much. :D The WHA will be interesting to watch. :yo: lux_interior 03-09-2005, 01:02 AM I hate to say it but he (Chistov) may need a change of scenery to reach his potential. I don't think the Ducks organization has done anything wrong but it's just the way it goes with some prospects. I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that many of us (including myself) were saying the same thing about Vishnevsky before the 03-04 season. Chistov23 03-09-2005, 01:19 AM The WHA will be interesting to watch. :yo: Really? I am hoping most fans will boycott it thus proving to the players that the WHA will fail if it goes ahead with an actual season next year. Fan.At 03-09-2005, 02:44 AM 6. Lockouts are gay. :handclap: Dreamgirl 03-09-2005, 04:21 AM Really? I am hoping most fans will boycott it thus proving to the players that the WHA will fail if it goes ahead with an actual season next year. :D Well, it will be interesting to see just how many fans feel as you do and how many will go to the WHA games just to see so many NHL'ers. It will also be interesting to see if there is no agreement between the players and the NHL how many of the other players will join the WHA. I'm afraid there are a lot of fans who just are not into the AHL or ECHL hockey and it will be interesting to see what those fans do. I have one at home who is like that. :madfire: Spankatola Jamnuts 03-09-2005, 06:39 PM Desire and Determination are not a problem with [Chistov] imo. I agree, and that's why I think he's not going to make it. He has NHL speed and world-class stick skills, and he seems pretty coachable and willing to be as physically active as his stature allows. I think his problem is with his vision - he can't seem to read plays very well at all. I think he only gives the appearance of selfishness with the puck because he is usually too slow in identifying passing options. I think that his vision is also the reason he has trouble being open in dangerous territory, and the reason he'll pass up a high-percentage shot for a lower-percentage play. Playing with a guy like Steve Thomas simplifies things greatly, and we saw Chistov excell. But, in the minors, where he's the most talented player with the most NHL experience he's expected to lead and guys try to take their cue from him, he's lost. He's on his own in creating and he seems to stink at it. So, long story short, I'm losing faith quickly. McDonald19 03-09-2005, 07:00 PM Desire and Determination are not a problem with him imo. Well I guess we are going to have to disagree about this. When he stops floating around the ice and actually shows up for every game then he will make it to the NHL. mmbt 03-09-2005, 10:32 PM He has NHL speed and world-class stick skills, and he seems pretty coachable and willing to be as physically active as his stature allows. I'm not that impressed with his speed, at least not for a player his size. If you're going to be in the NHL at around 5'10" you'd better have supersonic speed, the kind that backs defensemen off and scares the bejeezus out of them. He's not at that level. McDonald19 03-09-2005, 10:45 PM I'm not that impressed with his speed, at least not for a player his size. If you're going to be in the NHL at around 5'10" you'd better have supersonic speed, the kind that backs defensemen off and scares the bejeezus out of them. He's not at that level. I agree. His lateral movement is great but his skating up and down the ice is not that impressive for a 5'10 forward. Spankatola Jamnuts 03-09-2005, 10:58 PM He can turn it on when he wants. I just think that he slows everything down so that his brain can keep up. Fighter 03-10-2005, 11:50 AM Give Stan Getlaf at center and Lupul as right wing and we'll have a 25 goal player with an insane amount of assists. Till that day all he needs is only a veteran player to work with. Dreamgirl 03-11-2005, 03:45 AM He can turn it on when he wants. I just think that he slows everything down so that his brain can keep up. :speechles Well, if his brain is the problem, it's gonna be kind of hard to overcome. It is the brain you have and if it's slow, it's slow. How would you fix that?? :dunno: Pwnasaurus 03-11-2005, 09:43 AM Take some crack.
