Ducks_è_Halos 03-05-2005, 07:39 PM Why is Chistov a healthy scratch? They said he was a healthy scratch but they didn't say why... Fighter 03-05-2005, 07:42 PM Why is Chistov a healthy scratch? I doubt he is a healthy scratch. I think he's injured OR he got a suspension by the team. McDonald19 03-05-2005, 07:43 PM O'Brien vs. McLeod. Fighter 03-05-2005, 07:44 PM O'Brien drop 'em, he apparently won the fight Fighter 03-05-2005, 08:00 PM Chistov is really a healthy scratch. Wow. I'm asking myself if the coach is a little too hard on this kid, Smirnov is hundreds times worse than Stan but he plays regularly... Ducks_è_Halos 03-05-2005, 08:07 PM Chistov is really a healthy scratch. Wow. I'm asking myself if the coach is a little too hard on this kid, Smirnov is hundreds times worse than Stan but he plays regularly... Thats exactly what I was thinking... But Smirnov had the only goal last night so maybe their hoping he will build on that. Chistov should be in the lineup though. Fighter 03-05-2005, 08:09 PM Punish a kid over and over is not the right thing to do IMO, it's only a good way to destroy his confidence. Pohanka in the line-up doesn't help much btw... :dunno: McDonald19 03-05-2005, 08:17 PM well Chistov was in all 61 games so far...It was time for a wake up call for him... 29 points in 61 games is not good enough. As far as why not scratch Smirnov instead?... Chistov is a -9 Smirnov is a +3 Chistov needs to play on a scoring line and produce offense...he has not been doing that. Smirnov can play on a checking line and be effective, Chistov cannot play that role. McDonald19 03-05-2005, 08:31 PM Kunitz scores top shelf from the left circle. 1-0 Cincy early in the second. Jennifer 03-05-2005, 08:33 PM kunitz, konopka, and lupul now all tied for goals on team McDonald19 03-05-2005, 09:00 PM Tim Brent going at it... vs. Ballard. Brent got the better of the fight. McDonald19 03-05-2005, 09:07 PM He just mentioned our board on the air!! Ducks_è_Halos 03-05-2005, 09:14 PM He just mentioned our board on the air!! Awsome!!!... although I didn't hear it. What did he say? McDonald19 03-05-2005, 09:18 PM Awsome!!!... although I didn't hear it. What did he say? something like this: "special hello to those listening from the Hockeys Future website Mighty Ducks section" Chistov23 03-05-2005, 09:18 PM He just mentioned our board on the air!! Sweet :handclap: :yo: MightyAdam 03-05-2005, 09:19 PM Kunitz is really impressing me. You take a guy who comes straght from college, and you hope he learns how to score at the AHL level, so that maybe that can translate at the NHL level. Dang, it is like every time I look up this board, he is on the list of names of people who scored. I think in 2 years from now, the whole NHL will at least know who Kunitz is. I think he should carry his scoring ways over to the NHL level. I EXPECT to see him on the scoresheet when I look up these boards. That is how confident I am in the kid. He's got talent, that's for sure. And the very good thing is, he is a fast skater...which should be awesome for the NHL. If he is not in the lineup when this whole mess gets cleaned up with the NHL, then I won't know why. He is one of the most consistent AHL players I have ever heard of. He has played not too many games, but is tied for goals...against Lupul...who played many games in the NHL last year and should have like 25 goals now...one would think. Another person who of course, without a doubt should at least be considered to be in the lineup next year is Corey Perry. Here's a guy who is having one of the most awesome years of his career. Not only did he win with the Canadien team, but he was on the top line, playing with a player whom Gretsky said would break a lot of his records. If Crosby is expected to be an elite player, like Gretsky or Lemeix, then Perry should be considered at least like a Modono. He already has more points then Jason Allison had playing, and he also isn't as soft as some people might think...has over 100 penalty minutes. You know what's sort of funny? It said in his profile he falls down a lot. Guess whom else they said that about, at the beginning of his career? Iglina. Ducks_è_Halos 03-05-2005, 09:34 PM Kunitz is really impressing me. I can't wait for the NHL to start again so these players can show what they can do in the Big League... I think both Kunitz and Perry will make names for themselves in the NHL as they already have in thier current leagues. Both are future Pond Rockers!!! McDonald19 03-05-2005, 09:41 PM he just answered an email about Burnett...no more work Visas are available for the AHL this year so he will not be playing for Cincy this season. He was in town and skated with the team a few times but he has left and was headed to Vegas. McDonald19 03-05-2005, 10:06 PM Ducks win 1-0. 20 saves for Bryz. 3rd shutout for Bryz this season. Kevin Forbes 03-05-2005, 11:44 PM he just answered an email about Burnett...no more work Visas are available for the AHL this year so he will not be playing for Cincy this season. He was in town and skated with the team a few times but he has left and was headed to Vegas. It's the H2-B visas, they ran out in January Guy Fleming mentioned it in one of his articles A mid January report from south of the border said that U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services had reached its 66,000 cap on distributing H-2B working visas on Jan. 3 and that no new visas would be issued until Oct. 1 of 2005. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=7531&mode=threaded&order=0 The H2-B Visa applies to minor hockey league players. Basically what it means is that no more Canadian (or other foreign born) players can be signed to minor league contract. One would think that Burnett would already have a visa because of his time in the UHL, but obviously not. The H2B visa cap is the same reason why Kris Draper couldn't join the Motor City Mechanics. (http://www.freep.com/sports/hockey/nhl9e_20050209.htm) This is something that could have huge implications in the fall regardless of if the NHL resumes or not next season. The availability of visas (the NHL uses a different visa then the minor leagues) could cause huge legal problems if the league chose to go with replacement players. ducksfan4 03-06-2005, 01:14 AM I believe Smirnov is still playing "d" until sheldon comes back...so that is why he will play over a chistov. We still have three players too many 2 injured on one healthy must be scratched each game....I think Lee Jacobson shouldn't be playing a regular shift IMO!! He isn't very good and his fighting skills are only so-so at this level! Burnett didn't need a visa when he joined Danbury, because he had a Green Card, through his marriage. However, while in Danbury, he went through a divorce (losing his Green Card), those were the personal reasons that led him to departing from the UHL team. Because he lost his Green Card and could not get an H2B visa, he could not play for Cincy | ||
