on tsn they had a couple min. feature on the QMJHL in the maritimes. they mentioned some tid bits about guys like James Sheppard, Ryan Hillier, and Kelsey Tessier at Shattuck St. Mary's. It was nice to see the Q get at least a little recognition.

Good to hear that TSN finally has realized there is more to the Q than Crosby.
I'm sorry to have missed that clip. Left for work after the first segment. :(
Any particular points of interest brought up in the feature?

i'll one-up ya. ;)
if you go here

it's the clip that says "Maritime Prospects". It's just talks about the growing number of prospects from the maritimes and the effect of atlantic canada on the Q. it's not much, but it's something. strangely though they don't mention the saint john or st. john's franchises.

Is Kelsey Tessier out of Moncton? I am guessing he is 14?

Excellent.
Thanks for the hook-up. Am at work now, but hopefully it will still be linked when I get home tonight. :)

I wish the press in Maine could go around and talk to some high schoolers or prep stars that may have chance to make it to the Q. Q gets little reconization even w/ a team in the state. Only one newspaper covers them every game. Others just have the box score. The news organazations only come for home openers and Crosby. At night they just say a score. I know it is a 3 minute thing but atleast say who had a goal. No news organazation in the state of Maine has done something on Colby Gilbert of the Maineaics to be the first local boy to make the team. You guys in Canada are lucky to get extentive coverage of the Q.

yes he is from moncton. for a comparison (somewhat, take it for what you want), here's tessier's numbers vs. crosby's at shattucks
Crosby
57GP 72G 90A 162PTS
Tessier
53GP 52G 67A 119PTS
i don't know if it's the same program or not, tessier plays bantam tier 1

Crosby played a level higher, but he was also a year older than Tessier.

I do know of the Tessier family - good hockey people. I know that the mother was very involved in the Atlantic Select program. As I recall, Zach Tessier (I think that was his name) was also very good. Any word on him?
